I predict her next album will be a dirt-cheap Westlife/Susan Boyle-style album full of cover versions, marketed squarely as a Christmas present for mums and grannies.

Hate to say I told you so :P

^ Is that the only source? Because "Christmas record" could mean just a song.

^

If you click the link I put you can see a Leona fan asking if its just a one off song/ a few xmas songs or if shes doing a Christmas album and he replied saying a Christmas album :) (i'll put the printscreen of this at the bottom)

Plus there was also this week a few days ago off some woman

This week I will be driving to Oxford to be part of a choir for a recording of a Christmas song for Leona Lewis...how exciting #lovinglife

Who on Earth thinks this is a good idea? I bet Syco is forcing her into doing this to end her contract. I'd rather she released a compilation than this. You can't save a flopping career with a Christmas album.
It's June and I'm sat in the sun holding a beer, writing a Christmas record about dancing in the snow for @leonalewismusic. Normal, right?!?

Technically speaking, they can count the Labrynth DVD/Live CD as an album and finish her contract with the Christmas album.

I think a Christmas album could be a good idea. She'll have new management, be appealing to an older fanbase (who buy albums more so) and it'll be the 10th series of X-factor, so I'm sure she'll get promoted on it, perhaps on a live show and the final. Plus, she may pave the way for people to save their careers with the magic of Christmas.

P.S: I don't care if it massively bombs, I'm over success now and just want the music from Leona <3

Oh ern not sure how to feel about a Xmas album... I guess artists do do it then release new material after..

There's been quite a few tweets from people working with Leona on it, so there will be a bunch of original material. Plus, some of the material might not be reference Christmas, but more so winter.

I'm sure we'll get some huge ballads from this and I hope we'll get her versions of "O Holy Night" and "White Christmas" in a HQ studio recording.

I can't see a christmas album doing very well for Leona Lewis. Even more established artists sometimes struggle with christmas album sales and only a few do well such as Buble and Celine Dion, let alone someone who is struggling in their career.
A Christmas album sounds absolutely TERRIBLE. I love Leona, but I really don't want a Christmas album which I can play for all of about two weeks of the year. Awful idea as she's already struggling and I highly doubt this will help her.
Never harmed Michael Buble, did it? :P (I know she will not get nearly as many sales as he has, but it's not a completely stupid decision ) Plus it'd be nice if she managed to find her own Christmas hit. I truly believe it's what's kept people interested in Mariah's career.
If Joe McElderry can sell 100k copies with a Christmas album, I don't see why Leona can't. But it'd be pretty embarrassing if she wouldn't.

Believe it or not, Joe McElderry's previous album before his Xmas album actually sold more than Leona's recent album did.

Xmas albums have started performing better than they used to in the UK recently, but they still typically sell less than a "regular" album by any artist -- even Michael Buble's Xmas album, although it was huge, still sold quite a bit less than his previous, regular studio album. In light of that, it would be pretty remarkable if Leona's Xmas album manages to outsell 'Glassheart', especially since her label might not be willing to spend as much on promotion as last time.
