I've been taken under the spell of 'Harlem Shake' and if the song was just basically the 30 seconds, possibly looped twice making it 1 minute long, I'd be fully on board. So that's what I've done (my own edit, the 3:16 track is pointless, as someone else posted the song pretty does what it needs to in the first 30 seconds).

There are a couple of funny videos on YouTube I've seen. Mental though how this has taken off all over the world so quickly except Russia where they got a meteorite explosion instead. :D

Funny at the differing video release affects for the different acts like olly murs, pink& Bruno mars!!
Nope, Love Me is already out for weeks, was between #100-200 the last 2-3 weeks. ;)

Oh okay. I'm surprised it's shot up so much! I thought it would peak first week as usual. I think the music video must be boosting it (let's face it, it's not going to be radio or a live performance that's boosted it ).

I thought pre-orders got added in one go at mid-night though. So when they got to #28 that was the pre-orders, and the rest from then on is normal downloads. Although maybe you're right, since I find it difficult to believe it's selling so much at 2 in the morning lol.

It was #28 on pre-orders alone - the next 2 updates were all the pre-orders being added (so it jumped to 12 then 5, it's normally spread out over 2 updates I believe).

But it COULD get a big boost if they actually put out the explicit version - it's still only available in clean form ridiculously! Think this is what held it back from going top 100 on its original release, it just stalled at around #112.

-x-

Ugh at 1D shooting stright to #1 but it was pretty inevitable really, sadly now anticipating an official #1 although it'll still be extremely frontloaded and off #1 by the end of the week even with the BRITs I reckon.

 82. Worry About You (feat. Kano) - Tyler James

Solo version at #60. Get that 5th top 40 hit :D Have only heard a few seconds of this but it sounded good enough :P

Ke$ha C'Mon now #51 :o has it been this high before?

I think Avicii could be as low as #7 next week! :o

One Direction, Macklemore, Baauer, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and Emeli Sande could all be ahead (the latter three thanks to BRITS boosts). Rihanna/Mikky Ekko could even overtake! Imagine the 1-8 place drop! :o

Avicii really doesn't deserve that although I presume it will sell over 50k on its second week so it would be a default dive a la Robbie Williams' Candy and would hopefully stabilise afterwards.

OUCH  I never expected it to have an amazing chart run - but 1-7-10-23-38-OUT now looks like a possibility. Such an great year defining song deserves at least 13 weeks (a quarter of a year) in the top 40.

EDIT - what gooddelta said sounds more right but a 1-7 dive and ~10 weeks in the top 40 still counts as a non-#1

And who was the one that was saying that I Could Be The One would be a non #1? :kink:
hope Tom Odell can make some sort of impact after the Brits, hopefully 'Another Love' or 'Can't Pretend' will climb

I reckon it will be something more along the lines of 1-6-7-9-14-17-20-25-27-33-40-OUT, I doubt it will be a complete non #1, it's just likely to have a swift fall from #1 due to huge contenders this week because of various reasons. Disclosure sold 41k at #2 last week and you'd probably need at least that to be #7 or #8 over the next week!

 49. Ke$ha - C'Mon

'Army of Two' #50 now. Olly's 'Dancing on Ice' performance is in under an hour's time so I imagine we'll see it top 40 by the end of the night?

I don't think 10 weeks in the top 40 is that bad really. Songs like Dirtee Disco and Promises got like 5 weeks iirc. Heaven by Emeli Sande had a 2-7 drop, and spent 8 weeks in the top 40 (and re-entered later making 10 weeks overall), and that seems like it was a very big hit to me.
