August 15, 201313 yr Wow, Nelly on Radio 2. Such a crossover star! Not the first time, they playlisted 'Dilemma' more than ten years ago. Steve Wright played 'Just A Dream' sometimes too, but it wasn't an official playlist track.
August 16, 201313 yr The Manics, Melanie C, Travis and Stereophonics a-list and Texas and Shane Filan also on the playlist. Pretty much the makeup of the Radio 1 playlist of 1999. Will be interesting to see which stars of today are pushed to Radio 2 circa 2027!
August 16, 201313 yr Dont forget Pet Shop Boys :P Go West came out in 99 Erm, Go West came out in '93!
August 16, 201313 yr I guess they did have some stuff out in 1999 (New York City Boy/Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Anymore), but the other artists I mentioned were all at their commercial peaks more or less!

Yeah - the ridiculously titled 'You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk' was my personal fave from that era :D
August 16, 201313 yr Yeah - the ridiculously titled 'You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk' was my personal fave from that era :D Same, I adore that song. A top ten hit in early 2000, the only one from that era iirc!
August 16, 201313 yr Same, I adore that song. A top ten hit in early 2000, the only one from that era iirc! Yeah, but they released it in the 1st week of January, it would have struggled to get anywhere near the Top 10 any other time of year!
August 18, 201313 yr Author Thanks Envoirment for stepping in, should be able to do it again on Wednesday.

August 28, 201313 yr Author Simple Minds out after only one week! :o Pleased to see OneRepublic entering, love that song!
August 28, 201313 yr I'm loving the OneRepublic love from BBC Radio 1/2! Hopefully with Radio 2 on board, their album will start rising more as well. I have a feeling the song might get used as background music or something for X-factor too! Looks like it might go top 10 with all the new support and staying 59p too! :D

August 28, 201313 yr Have been listening to Radio 2 at work all day and they really didn't play much from the playlist. No wonder Radio 2 has so little impact on the chart. So many old songs!

That's because the playlist begins this Saturday, you're best of looking at the previous playlist. ;)
