17. Up In the Air - THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS

Not heard this yet but yes at them doing so well! Could they possibly do a Fall Out Boy and get a first top 10 hit? :o (I know 'My Songs...' wasn't Fall Out Boy's first top 10).

 

I just bought it and it's actually really good. Never really listen to them either.

I doubt '#thatPOWER' will even go to #1 next week, remember how frontloaded 'Boyfriend' was (although it'll probably hold up better than that if only because of the presence of will.i.am). The loonbase buys will be burnt out by the end of this week even as a midweek release.

 

It'd be quite something for will.i.am if it does go to #1 though, who was the last artist to have 4 consecutive chart entries reach #1? Including 'Hall Of Fame' in that of course.

Even the Britney one didn't get to #1 in it's first FULL week, no way will this one. 'Scream & Shout' had a shitload of more buzz than this one seems to.

I think that this Will.I.Am and Justin Bieber song will do similarly in the charts to Let's Go. I don't think it will go to #1 anyway.

But some of that fanbase may not buy / stream the track, because of the featured artist :P I am a massive fan of Will but I hate Justin Bieber :puke: I think it'll go top 3 but no higher.

I don't think either of the artists are the 'reason' that 'Scream & Shout' did so well, it was just a wide-appealing song which got a lot of airplay.

I can only speak personally, but Britney's contribution was the only reason *I* bought it.

Surely will.i.am will hold back the release of "#thatpower' until 14th April - leading the album's release the following Monday (22nd). He's not one to release OA/OS when it comes to the UK - "Scream & Shout" at least had some time to generate a bit of hype online before it was released.

 

I quite like the song on initial listens - but more for will.i.am/the production. I'll likely buy it regardless of whether Bieber features on it, I'm just a fan of the 'club' genre. Hopefully it won't stop Duke Dumont and A*M*E charting as high as they deserve with "Need U (100%)"; but that should've been released weeks ago!

The Time was released on air, on sale. But everything else I can think of wasn't. I really don't know why they made an exception for The Time.

 

I think Need U is almost guaranteed #1, even up against will.i.am. The song has had very good promotion, and if I'm honest, I much prefer it to will.i.am's song.
