Only at #45 on the Rolling TV Airplay :(

The song is still not top 100, which The Wanted are already top 10 on Radio Airplay, this really is going to do another 30 Days, there's little hype surrounding the single.

No, I think that there's still hope. If they do shitloads of promotion and end up in the papers more often, I see no reason why this can't enter in the Top 5.

The difference between the Sats and the Wanted is that the Sats still have a song doing very well on the airplay charts. The Wanted have been away for a while and their past singles are not stifling the success of WLR. As soon as WAU begins to plummet, Gentleman should take off.

Hehe, i just did a silly thing, which is so not me.....

Guess y'all might have seen comments over Gentleman @ youtube, how some thought,it was a cover of PSYs, and came there to watch...

Just posted these lines at PSYs Gentleman @ youtube.

spicemup 1 second ago Here we go, if you think THE SATURDAYS' song Gentleman, is,better than this :P

spicemup 1 second ago HUH? Thought this was cover of , The Saturdays' Gentleman ;)

Revenge ;)

Oops, seems to be getting snubbed by Radio1. 'What About Us' was already C-Listed and John Newman is B-List and Icona Pop has been C-listed (both released on the 30th)

Yeah, the way that airplay is going it would be fortunate to have an ' All Fired Up ' chart run/ sales.

Hmm, I am a bit surprised given how much they supported What About Us and it going to #1 and all, I thought it'd be a cert to get at least 4 weeks before the release on the playlist coming off the back of it all, especially if they've now playlisted John Newman and Icona Pop. Although both their tracks will both do much better than Gentleman will so perhaps they're holding off with Gentleman for a week so they don't clutter the playlist up with a handful of future releases all at once and they chose the two that are more likely to be more popular/radio and listener friendly? Deluded and clutching at straws, yes. :P

Anyway, I do think though it's a little early to be a bit dramatic and say they're 'snubbing' them though, especially when they've playlisted all 14 of their singles. I think/hope they'll be playlisted next week so they've 3ish weeks on the playlist before the single is out, probably doing C-B-A. The single won't do big things so I'm just hoping for a top 10 peak (even if it's #8-#10). There's enough of a fanbase to be confident of that at least, right? Fingers crossed they add them next week. They definitely need to try and do lots of TV promo for this if radio doesn't start picking up.

EDIT:

What About Us was first playlisted on 20th Feb with the release on March 17, so yeah, around 4 weeks on the playlist before the actual single release. If Gentleman isn't added next week (5th June) then I'd worry.

I just hope they don't lose too much support/ground if this release all goes a bit pear shaped.

Nothing to worry about really. Gentleman isn't released until 5 weeks and a few days. It should be playlisted within the next three weeks. :)
Great to see the video at over a million views now on YouTube in five or so days. It's done well to garner that many, their second best video 'launch' after What About Us - used to take them around a whole month to get there. :)

Yep, it would take them '30 Days' :yahoo:

I think we need to remember how badly What About Us was doing on airplay before it's release. Wasn't it only at #23 or something when it was released before it jumped up to the top ten because it went to #1 on iTunes?

This probably won't be anywhere near as big as What About Us but I can still see it being more All Fired Up style chart run/sales than 30 Days.

Pretty sure 'Gentleman' will get playlisted at some point. Radio 1 have been very supportive (surprisingly!) of The Sats in the past. So coming off the back of their most successful single to date and the fact they played the "big weekend" for them, I can't not see them playlisting tbh. Radio 1 usually always playlist their big weekend acts.

I'm sure Radio1 will playlist them, it's just a bit disappointing that following their first number one, 'Gentleman' seems to have killed the majority of the hype.

Re Shadow: Yeah, although What About Us was Top 10 on UK TV Airplay at this point.

It had 1,100,000 views on Tuesday, it only has 1,132,454 (I expected more than 32,000 in two days)
This is slowly growing on me. Its now only their second worst single.

Oh Toby. I actually love the way you phrase your posts!

Toby you are a gentleman.

I know, I know. I was incredibly positive about 'What About Us'. I guess it's just the frustration that all hype/buzz regarding them has disappeared, the amount of tweets that I've seen " The Saturdays follow up their best song with their worst song" and I doubt it's airplay is going to do well.

I do hope that I'm wrong, but if this manages to get a top 10... I predict a '30 Days' chart run rather than an 'All Fired Up' chart run.

Yeah. I know what you mean. It does feel like 'Gentleman' has sort of killed the buzz that they had but I'm just glad they finally have their #1 big hit under their belts now. Even if we go back to endless top ten singles that spend five weeks in the charts and flop albums, at least we have one big hit to celebrate. :) You never know, this song might be a big hit as well. If these girls have proved anything since 2008, it's that you just don't *know* how a Sats single is going to do.
