I'm really happy for Carly, and for once thankful to Capital! 'Tonight' is an excellent song and I hope it can take off further. Now I just hope it can match its UK "success" elsewhere (aka in the US).
What OZ Song? Mariah Carey's Almost Home? its not in the top 1500 anymore

:D

(I suspect he meant Ding Dong the Witch is Dead! - which is #188)

 181. Ding-Dong! the Witch Is Dead - Judy Garland (Et Al.)

Not the only recent iTunes #1 to be out of the top 100 less than a week after being #1 - anyone remember 'You'll Never Walk Alone' :P It's always the politics-related campaigns it seems.

I had a feeling it could be due to a Capital playlisting, but I've checked a couple of times and it isn't on their playlist according to their website. I hope it is though!

Capital's playlist isn't that representatitve of what they play. Some of the songs on the playlist never get played, and Capital still play certain songs from 2009-2012 a lot.

They literally just finished playing the song right now. They're going to be playing this every 2 hours for the next few months probably, so I think it'll be big.

I think the '212'/'Work' comparisons are lazy tbh.

'212' basically defined the term "slow burner" and spent god knows how many weeks in the top 20 and top 40. 'Work' is only on it's fifth chart week and it's been taken off the R1 playlist so I doubt it's going to equal or surpass the success of '212'.

Yea, plus Iggy will probably not stick to one hit as her label is already preparing the upcoming single "Bounce"!

The length of time between 212's chart debut and its peak was huge iirc. Work is going to peak in the next couple of weeks probably, so not that long.

I think Bounce is probably just going to be a more bubble-gum pop song more aimed at the US market.

Ah good! I hope you are right regarding that it will be big, I just want Carly to get another official top 40 hit! :D

 39. Carly Rae Jepsen - Tonight I’m Getting Over You

So happy Carly is climbing. Tonight I'm Getting Over You is too immense a song not to be a hit, I just hope it can take off elsewhere and keep its momentum up in the UK...

lol. This song will be lucky to make it into the top 200 on Sunday.

 09. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis // Can't Hold Us

This is definitely gonna go to #1 at some point i think!

They're chart runs are very similar.

How can you say that when one has had a monster of a chart run and the other is only beginning? If you mean that both songs have debuted low and have steadily climbed over a five week period (more for '212' obviously), then you can say the same about many songs.

 60 R Kelly- Ignition (Remix) Wasn't this in the midweek charts? Won't be come Sunday will it?

Rudimental could well get a second week at #1 if the sales don't decrease really sharply next week. Looking at the release schedule, Loveable Rogues 'What A Night' could well give Rudimental a run for their money. Then of course there's the continued rise of 'Can't Hold Us' especially after the way 'Thrift Shop' rocketed up the charts 24-02-01. Macklemore might not be #1 next week but maybe the following week (can't see Demi Lovato being #1 that week personally).

I hope so, she has a lot of potential in the US market and she needs to start the album campaign over there...

It's B list on Radio 1 and been on the playlist for a good few weeks?

The biggest factor for Rihanna getting a hit is her videos though!

The Attracting Flies remix EP is going to be released on Sunday I think. Honestly one of the best remix EPs I've ever heard! Each remix I've currently heard (
) is up there with the original; just amazing! I still have hope that Attracting flies can eventually hit the top 20.
