You're probably right, they got 73 or 74 points in my rankings which is as good as borderline with 75 points and it wouldnt take much of a mood shift to jostle up over a couple of others. There's a lot of good competition for places, so there may yet be surprises though...:)

oh just how I rate them, I have no idea what will qualify, but it's really close, about 20 songs all rated 70 to 77 points! Quite difficult to split them at this stage. The standard is high...

Either the bolded songs are your predictions for DNQ's or there is a whole lot of goodness (mainly from Semi 2) being flushed there :(

 

Oh I wouldnt worry its just an initial run-through, I'd say Kelly will qualify because some I like (like Emmylou Harris) I cant really expect will get a lot of support (tho would be great to see some unusual ones go through) and she's right in line for that next slot. Mausi was a real grower I thought, 2nd best song last time and fab. Hopefully Kelly will be too on 2nd hearing (and some other near-misses)..:)

I'm not too sure you're actually allowed to rate the songs in the public as it'll just spoil your votes. I thought you rated them in order of what you'd think would qualify and not on what your personal opinion is of each track! :lol:

Which track was this? I converted all the mp3s myself so they should be working regardless of which music player is used.

Don't worry, it's not anything you've done (sorry I mentioned it, you've been wonderfully organised all through!), it's IT problems on my part - I've not been able to work out how to download yet so I went straight to the (mostly) youtube links and there's an odd site for My Little Jeans Oh sailor which my laptop (I'm on holiday) wont accept, it plays the first 3 seconds (and sounded good what I heard!) and then freezes my computer up and I have to exit the internet. Tried it a few times, then googled for alternative sites with no luck, but wasn't too worried as I'm not voting in that semi and I may be able to sort the downloading next week..

 

that's my homework, feel free to mark me out of 100!:)

oops! I'm pretty sure it will change on second hearing though who I vote for, thats what happens in eurovision, and third hearing, and fourth, my preferences change daily once Ive bought the cd! I guess downloading the mp3's will be the same, so it's more of an initial reaction of which sound like winners on one hearing than a final actual voting list. At this stage I'm confused who to vote for as they are all so close and some dark horses might come through on the inside.... it would be easier if a lot of people had entered some dull tracks! How selfish, making it hard for me to choose! :)

It'll be a big hitter, pretty sure I've vastly underestimated it and it's about top 15 in my odds and a definite qualifier so I'm surprised that other people aren't seeing it. That said, this view was more based on a gut feeling as to what other's might vote for, as opposed to me particularly loving the song myself (I do like it though and it's growing each time!).

just played it for a second time, you're right it's a grower it doesnt jump out on one listen it's more subtle appeal comes through on the second. Doh! This is going to be sooooo difficult to rank there's so many good ones. Argh!

Welp. If there's one thing i can say; Global Concepts wasn't faring much better this time last month :lol: I thought Happier might have more overall appeal than GC, but i could be wrong of course.

 

as per my odds, i think trifoski sounds like a top 5 contender.

Thanks for the offer, I just managed to download all of the songs successfully, hooray now I can hear them all in glorious mp3-dom and rate the final-tastics properly:)

On the other hand, the last time I was predicted to NQ, I came 2nd in the final. Perhaps it's not too bad. :D

I don't think this is QUITE as good as everyone was saying, but its definitely a lot more consistent that semi 1, some real highlights too.

OMG how do you guys deal with this DNQ shit every month? I haven't done it in about 3 years, and now that it's so blatently coming, it's made the whole contest for so 'meh' for me :lol:

Well, it obviously sucks (I would know) but on the one hand, there is a lot of great new discoveries that I wouldn't find anywhere else, I think that's the main thing that keeps me coming back. Just take it in your stride and vow you'll come back stronger the next time! (I was really surprised that you sent a song like that btw!)

 

(I think I will take a break quite soon admittedly, I'm pretty parched of what else to send and I think I'd just need a bit more time to find something that I really love.)
