When we were discussing this, there were a few of us that thought exactly this. On the other hand some of us thought how many of us actually visit artist forums unless we're a proper fan? Everyone will have opinions on these big releases however as the topics are hidden in artist forums, many people do not visit them. For example the 'Diamonds' topic only has 9 pages in the Rihanna forum but I'm sure there are more people who would have replied if more people knew about it or were encourage more to post in it.

 

Therefore by advertising these artist forums at the top of pop forum topics, we hope that it will end up resulting in more people being aware of and using the artist forums, and those people won't just be the proper fans but more casual fans too.

Fair enough. If a thread on a Rihanna single only has 9 pages on it in the Rihanna forum though, that's probably because they're posts from the only people who actually care about the single enough to comment on it. Of course, there will be some missed opinions because some won't know how to access the artist forums. Introducing threads in other forums not specifically for these artists and where threads concerning them have been locked/moved/deleted prior to this 'move' will probably encourage this even more. But hey ho, as Liam says, can't knock it until we've tried it.
