So on first listen it's definitely not as instant as ANYTHIN on Justified/ FL, but i can see this growing exponentially.

I tried to take off my JT goggles but it was impossible, and i just started picturing him in a suit in the video

And Jay-Z's rap actually works really well with here.

It has a very classic sound do it. At least it's not a club banger.
It's very 'FutrueSex'/'LoveSounds' album track, isn't it? I still like it. But I too, must say it's not quite what I was hoping, but somehow I'm still not disappointed. I think it's because I'm pretty sure this is only being used as a "buzz single" sort of song. I don't know. I think it'll grow on me, but it won't much more. It's completely different to anything we have at the moment in the charts, and I love that about this/him and knew he wouldn't "follow the trend" of what's cool etc... and just stick to the type of genre he's best of.
On second listen I'm definitely liking it more but it is pretty strong evidence that given five years he'll be Michael Buble.

Considering he looks like he could be Buble's kid brother I'd say you could be right.

Number 3 in the UK and 4 in the US (they're just getting up!)! KingJT
I'm not sure what to think of it. It's very regressive in its sound, but it does very much sound dated in its production (not so much 90s as others have said, but more it's a weak copy of what he did a lot better in 2006). I'm going to blame this on Timbaland's production, who very clearly hasn't actually been good since then. Jay-Z's rap is a bit pointless as well, but I like the production during his verse/middle eight.

Totally agree.

So glad to have him back more than anything!

Liking this on first listen, was hoping for something slightly more SexyBack, and I agree this is quite 'FutureSex/LoveSounds album track' but it's good on first listen. Sounds like it could be a grower but for now I'm glad to see him smashing without selling out like many others have by releasing a generic club banger.

Okay, on first listen, this is absolutely awful - was hoping he could prove me wrong, as he's an artist I really want to like, but this really is deathly dull.

I totally agree with you for once.

Although Jay-Z's verse works perfectly with the song in my opinion.

I'm obviously currently in a blind loon state for this, but how can people hate on this? :( I can understand some disappointment/it not being as good as it should etc... but seeing genuine hate towards this track... I just can't :drama: It's DEFINITELY a grower though, but I quite like how sophisticated and classy it sounds atm. It is still very much a "buzz single" type of track for me, but it's a strong one at that!

I dont think it's going to appeal to many people who are already not fans.

I don't hate it! I just think that it's disappointing, I would have preferred him to come back with a club banger instead of this song. :(

I would have liked him to make a solo song that reflected on the electro dance genre that's been popular for years and put a completely different spin on it. He could have even coined a new genre of music if he did this. But he hasn't and we're stuck with Timbaland's dated production instead. :drama:

I don't know why everyone keeps saying this isn't a club track. Have you heard the lyrics? (Not every club track sounds like Starships :P)

I personally can't wait until they play this in a club, because it's made for it imo.

I agree that Timbaland's production sounds SO dated. He had one perfect album, and has just tried to recreate that sound ad infinitum ever since :drama:

This is the worst single he's ever done. It sounds like a Futuresex/Lovesounds reject. 00/10

My reaction was more like:

So dull. It's insane that Nelly brought it and flopped and he delivers this mess and he's #1 on both sides of the Atlantic.
