I see the point of when having 8-9 new songs why not just release a brand new album, i suppose for example a 1.6 million selling album appears a lot more impressive than 2 800,000 selling album. If Lady Gaga's sales were split between the fame and the fame monster the perception of how well it sold would have been weakened.

Kylie Minogue's new album to feature 'interesting' collaboration

Kylie Minogue's next album will reportedly feature an "interesting" collaboration.

The singer signed a new deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation earlier this year.

Omar Grant - who is part of the A&R division at Roc Nation - responded to a fan question on Twitter asking if Minogue's next record would feature a female collaboration.

He said that Minogue's new album will feature an 'interesting' collaboration, though did not clarify as to whether it would be a male or female.

Pharrell Williams recently confirmed that he has worked with Minogue on new material.

Darkchild, Stargate and Sia are also rumoured to have worked on the follow-up to 2010's Aphrodite.

Minogue has previously said that her new album is almost finished, and that she is doing something "different" for the record.

Kinda hoping its female. She hasn't had many female collabs.

Could you imagine the video? http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/MSN%20Smilies/oh.gif *.*

Kinda hoping its female. She hasn't had many female collabs.

I'm think it is, just because the person asked specifically if there was a female collaboration and the Roc Nation team member avoided answering that.

I'm wondering whether this Omar Grant is referring to one of the already rumoured artists when he says "interesting collaboration".

i hope it's Rihanna or Maroon 5 or someone relevant in the US, and not some has been like Timbaland or Scissor Sisters or some wannabes like Rita Ora or Iggy Azalea, that would make her lose all her credibility....

I don't see how collaborating with the Scissor Sisters would make her lose credibility when she has done so many times in the past (unless you are just referring to Rita Ora and Iggy Azalea there).

To be honest, I could imagine a Rita Ora collab working if done right. Perhaps a ballad type? I know people have liked Rita's input on 'Lay Down Your Weapons' earlier this year. I love Iggy's music but I cannot imagine Kylie singing something like 'Work' or 'Bounce'! That said, I wouldn't mind a video of Kylie twerking... (oh, behave Liam! :P).

The Pharrell song (or one of them) is called The Winners. Could be a duet. Apparently it sounds nothing like your typical Kylie track.

Rita Ora is the worst thing to happen to music in a LONG time. I would be absolutely furious if Kylie involved herself with that.

I dont really think the duet should be American based so she gets a hit there as in many senses that market is irrelevant to her. I would like the focus on her having a huge UK and Europe hit where she is best known and a huge hit that would sell the album. American success would be great but i dont think it should be in any way the focus market.

Pharrell seems to be hot property all round at the moment, so that could be a big help to her.

I can't listen to 'Skirt' until I get home. These things always happen while I'm at work, so bloody annoying!

It should be noted that Skirt is just a remix. I can't make my mind up on the production (it's not very Kylie but certainly quite bold) but the chorus seems like it will be a winner.

Whether thats a remix of Skirt or not it is fantastic, the 'down' parts better be in the original version because they are crazy good.

Ah, that's good to know. I'm imagining what it will sound like officially and I think it could sound quite mega!

Ooh and happy 45th to Kylie! :D

Oh now I'm reading that it's not actually a remix. Buzz track apparently. 8/10.

It does say 'dub version' in the title, so perhaps it's not the exact, official version? That said, when I listened to the 'dub version' of Madonna's 'Everybody', I heard no difference between that the original.

If it is official, I do hope it is only a buzz track as the way 'Skirt' sounds at the moment, it's not strong enough to be a single.
