May 3, 201312 yr Author Midweek Charts update: Nettwerk heading for first ever Top 10 album Source: MW by Paul Williams The Nettwerk label is heading for its first ever UK Top 10 album and biggest single since 2000 thanks to Brighton singer-songwriter Passenger. The alias of Mike Rosenburg, the act has climbed 11-4 in the midweek singles chart with Let Her Go, while All the Lights has risen 25-10 on artist albums, according to the Official Charts Company. The first and only time previously Nettwerk made the Top 10 of the singles chart was back in 2000 with the Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan hit Silence, which reached No 3. It has never made the albums Top 10, but that is likely to change on Sunday with Passenger. Sales of his album are up 178% on the week, while the single has lifted 161%. The UK success of the single and album follows Let Her Go having already topped the sales charts in a number of countries, including Australia, Austria, Denmark, Germany and Sweden. The album has also been a big international hit, including peaking at 2 in Australia and 6 in Germany. Ahead of Passenger in the singles market, Daft Punk have shifted another 100,000 copies of their Columbia debut Get Lucky featuring Pharrell Williams so far this week. It climbed to No 1 last Sunday on the back of 155,215 sales, while it is more than matching that figure this week with a further 112,229 copies sold with two days of trading still to go. That has pushed its cumulaive UK sales above 300,000 to put it on the verge of being among the Top 10 sellers of the year. Asylum/Atlantic's Rudimental are storming to No 1 on albums this week with debut release Home having already sold nearly 50,000 copies, while Waiting All Night featuring Ella Eyre holds at 2 on singles. The Macklemore & Ryan Lewis single Can't Hold Us on the Macklemore label and featuring Ray Dalton is up 5-3 with weekly sales rising 38%. Heading for its 64th consecutive week in the artist albums Top 10, Virgin act Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events climbs 5-3 in the week so far to sit directly below Reprise/Warner Bros act Michael Buble with To Be Loved (1-2), while Pink's RCA album The Truth About Love holds at 4 and will.i.am's Interscope/Polydor set Willpower drops 3-5. Brand new to the Top 10 at this point in the week are albums from Mercury's Bo Bruce (Before I Sleep) and Blue (Routelette) on their own Blueworld label. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friday Update Top 40 Only Singles 1 Daft Punk (112,229) 2 Rudimental/Ella Eyre 3 Macklemore/Ryan Lewis/Ray Dalton 4 Passenger 5 Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding Top 10 7 David Guetta/Ne-Yo/Akon 9 Goo Goo Dolls 10 Disclosure/Eliza Doolittle Top 20 16 AlunaGeorge Top 30 26 Chris Brown 30 Rudimental/John Newman Top 40 31 Paramore 32 Misha B 34 Michael Molloy/Alex Evans ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 Rudimental (50k) 2 Michael Buble 3 Emeli Sande 4 P!nk 5 will.i.am Top 10 6 Bo Bruce 9 Blue 10 Passenger Top 15 14 Deep Purple 15 Rihanna Top 20 17 Seasick Steve 20 Taylor Swift Top 30 24 Beyonce 28 Eagles Top 40 34 Pigeon Detectives 40 David Guetta
May 3, 201312 yr Author MW database error its the usual Friday thing, that's all we have at the moment. There isn't much going on anyway, the only new entry is from Disclosure, Misha B and Michael Molloy (maybe) could have dropped out of the 40 by now. Albums are pretty slim, yet to position are Deep Purple, Pigeon Detectives and Seasick Steve.
May 3, 201312 yr How would Misha B have dropped out when she was #31 on Wednesday and is still #35 on iTunes?
May 3, 201312 yr Daft Punk's total 10K ahead of the equivalent point last week :w00t: Last week it did a crazy number on the Saturday though so it will still need a good weekend to have an overall sales increase.
May 3, 201312 yr Author We have a full update now hang on for a bit, while I flesh the necessary bits out. Notable big faller from the singles chart are Lovable Rogues down to #25 Notable big faller from the album chart are Frank Turner down to #20
May 3, 201312 yr Another 112,229 already? That is absolutely INSANE! Won't be long before it's the YTD #1! Edited May 3, 201312 yr by mango
May 3, 201312 yr Paramore back up to #31 :cheer: Could still climb back into the top 30 for the official chart now that it is firmly in the top 30 on iTunes.
May 3, 201312 yr I'm starting to think Passenger might possibly miss #1 actually. I doubt he'll ever sell over 100k in a week (these type of slow-burning hits never really top out with a MASSIVE sale in a week--I don't think Gotye, Fun or 'Thrift Shop' ever sold over 100k in a week?), so he's going to have to hope that he's still at full strength when 'Get Lucky' finally dies down AND that no big releases pop out of nowhere. I sadly agree but then its hard to tell what will happen as it will be on Radio 1 & 2 blist from next week. It'd be weird if he got to #1 everywhere apart from the UK which is where he is from. Either way I think Daft Punk looks like they could well have this years #1 in the bag (though obviously another big song could come later this year).
May 3, 201312 yr Wonderful sales for the no1s in both charts, although Rudimental's total is nearly as good an achievement than DPs in my view no1 albums by dance artists dont normally get as good sales, although im sure the rest of the sales are poor hopefully the top 10 can have cleared 10k copies each. No1 album sales have been great this year mainly because of the decent release list!! So what does everyone think Get Lucky will end up with this week, hard to know if it will beat 155k but never thought it would have done 25k last friday and saturday although im sure its sales are slowing slightly?!
May 3, 201312 yr 1 Daft Punk (112,229) Amazing. With 2 more days of sales to go, Daft Punk must be looking at around 150k again for this week. Incredible result for them.

It's always interesting to see how songs become popular in Europe yet fail to have similar success in the UK. Makes me think of Amy MacDonald 'This Is The Life' which was such a big hit across Europe yet I don't think it even made the top 20 in the UK. Mattafix 'Big City Life' was another Brit hit across Europe but not quite in the UK itself.

Very popular in France, Switzerland, and Austria but not in the UK either.
May 3, 201312 yr Those sales are just excellent for Daft Punk, its success is just mental and so unexpected to a certain level. Rudimental doing very well in the album number 1 as i must agree that dance acts usually dont have overly successful albums.
May 3, 201312 yr I reckon DP should easily do 160-170k this week. I never usually predict but have crunched some numbers. Anyone know what the usual Saturday uplift is on the week?
May 3, 201312 yr Alex Hepburn's "Under" is also a good example. Very popular in France, Switzerland, and Austria but not in the UK either. Wowzers, I had no idea Alex Hepburn was British. :o It's just like Passenger, when 'Let Her Go' first became a hit in Belguim, I'd just assumed he was from Belguim and they were supporting their home grown acts. Likewise, I was thinking Alex was maybe Swiss or French. :o
