May 1, 201312 yr I'm sure someone will ask so I'll answer this now, the only records this century not charity/ TV linked to sell over 100k in its third week on the charts are: Pure Shores- All Saints 111k Stan- Eminem 133k Whole Again- Atomic Kitten 101k It Wasn't Me- Shaggy 147k Can't Get You Out Of My Head- Kylie Minogue 122k Changes- Kelly & Ozzy Osbourne 103k Crazy- Gnarles Barkley - 118k "Call Me Maybe" - Carly Rae Jepsen 114,993 :P
May 1, 201312 yr "Call Me Maybe" - Carly Rae Jepsen 114,993 :P For some reason I'd just checked 2000-09 but of course you're right! :D
May 1, 201312 yr Would be amazing to see a sales increase for Get Lucky this week. It isn't out of the question. Anything approaching 150K would be great too though.
May 1, 201312 yr For some reason I'd just checked 2000-09 but of course you're right! :D Well Bruno Mars has the 2010s record, with 116,684 on his fifth week. Adele also had 116,347 on her third week at #1 (sixth week on sale). "Paradise" also had 108,390 after about 2/3 months on sale.

May 1, 201312 yr Yes I was only looking at 3rd week sales, the download era has made compiling these facts considerably harder! :( This is true! Although I'd still consider "Just the Way You Are", as it was solely selling from its single release/no other versions available on its fifth week.
May 1, 201312 yr 'Get Lucky' is unstoppable at the moment! I've not seen a song have this sort of impact among people I know IRL in a long time. I'm not so sure Chris Malinchak will be able to overthrow them next week, as much as I'd love that to go to #1.
May 1, 201312 yr 70k is incredible, although I am growing really bored of the song now. :( The only song that I reckon could stop it soon enough is Passenger's Let Her Go, and I hope that it does it.
May 1, 201312 yr So 275K in 12 days for Daft Punk and still showing no sign of slowing. Normally it would be crazy to predict a (non-X-Factor winner) for a million seller after just 12 days sales but it's between one quarter and one third of the way there already! And to think just a couple of weeks ago people were wondering when the first mega-seller of 2013 was going to appear. I think we might just have found it :) Edited May 1, 201312 yr by Col1967
May 1, 201312 yr 1 Daft Punk/Pharrell Williams (70k holy cow :o ) :D Would be incredible if 'Get Lucky' became the biggest selling single of 2013. It's selling power has been phenomenal and as others have posted, this is pretty much looking set to become a million seller within the next few months. About time there was a genuinely popular and massive hit topping the UK charts. :D (had expected 'Thrift Shop' to be bigger than it ended up being)
May 1, 201312 yr Woahhhh! 70k in three days :o Assuming 140-150k this week and another 100-120 next week, poor Chris Malinchak has a major fight on his hands! Passenger's Let Her Go will surely overhaul Get Lucky at some point, although maybe not for another three weeks or so...
May 1, 201312 yr Daft Punk had sold 60k by this time last week - judging by that and the fact it's not slowing on iTunes at all I think it could actually do better this week than last week (maybe over 160k) :o Definitely looking on pace to be a million seller. Incredible to see Rudimental's album dominating, I thought it'd get to #1 but not by that much. 'Waiting All Night' should have similar sales to last week as well! And yay at 'Feel The Love' looking like re-entering the top 40 :D The Pigeon Detectives as high as #23? Really? Even with the tiny amount it'd need to sell to get there I'm shocked they're still relevant enough. On the other hand expected Seasick Steve to be a bit higher, seems the 'hype' for him has died out a bit after his last 3 albums all went top 10.
May 1, 201312 yr when is DP´s album out??? and I bet Bublé will be number one in july again, when his O2 concerts will take place in London
May 1, 201312 yr Not one radio station I follow the playlists of have played the new Pigeon Detectives track in fact I haven't heard anything about it?!

Passenger's Let Her Go will surely overhaul Get Lucky at some point, although maybe not for another three weeks or so... True, just hope by the time Passenger overtakes that there won't be something that gets in the way. Having said that, Daft Punk won't be able to hold that lead forever and Passenger will begin catching up more and more with more airplay over the coming weeks. I think Chris will have to settle for #2 to be honest.
May 1, 201312 yr I'm starting to think Passenger might possibly miss #1 actually. I doubt he'll ever sell over 100k in a week (these type of slow-burning hits never really top out with a MASSIVE sale in a week--I don't think Gotye, Fun or 'Thrift Shop' ever sold over 100k in a week?), so he's going to have to hope that he's still at full strength when 'Get Lucky' finally dies down AND that no big releases pop out of nowhere.
May 1, 201312 yr awesome to see Bo Bruce top 10. its a shame tyler james couldnt have done the same. at least one will have done ok on singles, the other on albums
May 1, 201312 yr Surely it's precisely *because* it's on Sunday Best that RdB can't be seen to pull any strings in its favour? They played it today for the first time during the midweek chart update. Massive progress
