This looks potentially wonderful.

 

 

Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, it's a two hander set in space starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. Now I won't lie, 50% of my interest is down to Sandra, who owns everything. But it looks like a proper psychological blockbuster which are too few and far between nowadays. Out October.

 

That looks bloody BRILLIANT, visually and story wise.

Sandra Bullock? SOLD.

Reviews have been flooding in. A quite astonishing 96 on metacritic. Just wall to wall hype and praise. Can't remember any other mainstream film getting this level of critical adoration. I can't bloody wait to see it.

 

The trailer drew me in initially but seeing it again in the cinema was goosebump-inducing phenomenal. I've had a worry that it would just be a '2001...' done today but it apparently stands out on its own as something really special.

the trailer looks great, and the one and only legendary (in the "actually done something breathtaking in real life" not "they've around for 20 years in the media" sense) Buzz Aldrin has praised it as the most realistic fictional portrayal of a space mission, or something similar. If a man who's been on the moon says its OK thats good enough for me.

 

Plus, you know, Sandra Bullock....!

I'm really intrigued by this and excited to see it. It's getting absolute rave reviews. I hope it lives up to the hype!

Just saw this. Nothing short of phenomenal. I was on the edge of my seat during the whole film.

The visuals are spectacular, the score is spectacular and so was the rest :lol: Best film of the year so far, hands down!

The reviews for this are really quite startling, non? For a Sandra Bullock film. Sandra Bullock. Who knew.

 

It might have to be an IMAX 3D outing for this one.

They must've been showing it after I came back for maybe a week but I really thought it'd be out like in November, along with the UK. Well f*** ME! UK is being BEHIND Russia in SOMETHING.

What is so bad about going to the cinema by yourself? You won't really be talking to the person and it's not like you'll need moral support whilst sitting there. So people may think you're weird or a loner, who cares? To tell you the truth, I don't actually recall ever being in a cinema by myself, but I know of others who have, and I myself have been to several live gigs on my own and it was good. It's kind of like a 'between me and myself' situation. And between me and the musicians of course.

I go to the cinema alone all the time! Exactly what you said; you don't have interaction with other people during the film.

When I want to see a movie and no one wants to join, I go alone.

I go to the cinema on my own all the time too, who cares...and the last time i went to the cinema there was no one else in the screen with me at all...so i had the whole screen to myself, it was awesome :P

Just saw this and it's brilliant. Really beautifully shot, directed and wonderfully acted. The 3D use is stunning too! Not bad to say I wasn't really interested in it, until I wanted to see what the fuss was about.
