July 1, 201114 yr This seems to getting good reception now, comments on YT and here are much better  :o How can a video change so much? Are comments on youtube really much better? I didn't see the comments before but they don't look too good at the moment (plus the dislike bar is pretty much half)! I'm guessing before, the dislike bar must've been massive!

On the lyric video before, the dislike bar was more red than green :( It is seeming like a better reception now, though still not fantastic tbh.
July 1, 201114 yr On the lyric video before, the dislike bar was more red than green :( It is seeming like a better reception now, though still not fantastic tbh. Oh dear! Still, with Radio1 backing, hopefully it'll do well.
July 1, 201114 yr On the lyric video before, the dislike bar was more red than green :( It is seeming like a better reception now, though still not fantastic tbh. It is just the first day though I imagine come next week the dislike button will be huge.I wonder if there are better songs on the album. I do not understand who would consider this song the right one to kick off a campaign.
July 1, 201114 yr The lyrics are crap (with juvenile words in it like 'hater' - I frigging hate that word) and the bit of the song that first grabs you (the Darling Clementine tune) is musically for me the weakest part of it. But .... The video's great, Cher looks good (and shows a sense of humour) and she actually has a very good voice. I think this'll do a hell of a lot better than people first thought - and deservedly so. Kath PS - she really does look like she's Cheryl's kid sister.
July 1, 201114 yr The song is rubbish, typical of Cher to have her first song titled with the word Swagger on it, however I admit to quite liking the video, knowing what the british public are like any crap can get to number 1, so I won't be surprised if Cher gets there with this song.
July 1, 201114 yr I still think this is one of the worst songs I have ever heard and that Cher is horrible, but I have to give it to her, she has made quite a good video. Not as cringey or as cheap as I was expecting and she actually looks nice in it. I am glad she has discovered her style and has stopped copying people (Rihanna, Jessie J ect.), she looks much better when shes not. The video reminds me in parts of Steve Angello's 'Show Me Love' and Alexandra's 'Bad Boys' in parts.
July 2, 201114 yr I absolutely loved the video! The first half was definitely the most enjoyable. I already liked the song, but the epicness of the video has made me LOVE it. Cher for number 1!
July 2, 201114 yr I really like the chorus but not so keen on the rest, its a decent debut i think though and it could do quite well for her.
July 2, 201114 yr The beat (of chorus or verses, can't really tell - it's all a mess really) is crazy but other than that - poor and, as i said, messy. Edited July 2, 201114 yr by (((( PAVEL ))))
July 2, 201114 yr I thought I'd end up hating it but it isn't that bad. Do I love it? No...but the Black Eyed Peas-esque production makes the song sound bareable. This is gonna sell bucketloads.
July 2, 201114 yr the instrumental to this doesn't sound half bad, it's just the singing that absolutely DESTROYS it. video's one of the worst i've seen in a while too. it's a shame as i was quite fond of cher (although not exactly a fan) in x factor but it's probably one of the worst songs that i've ever heard, no exaggeration. SORRY
July 2, 201114 yr Swagger Jagger and Cher Lloyd was trending in uk and worldwide earlier, by the way ''swagger jagger'' is #4 on the ''bestsellers in singles'' on amazon off pre orders alone http://i51.tinypic.com/29upz51.jpg
July 2, 201114 yr The video now has about 2k more dislikes than likes :( Ah well, hi haterz kiss kiss I'll see you later... :P Everyone's entitled to an opinion anyway, and it'll still be HUGE!
July 2, 201114 yr I really like the song and video, but the end of the song lets it down a bit. I would've liked another chrous at the end.
July 2, 201114 yr Everything about this project thus far is diabolical. Let's break it down: The Song Vocally she sounds terrible. It's all so strained. What on earth does "Swagger Jagger" mean? Are we just using lazy rhymes to form a song? The syllabic pattern is ugly and rough. Lyrically she's gone into horrific territory especially in the context of a debut single: "you can't stop lookin' at me" / "I'm laughing all the way". How can that endear her to the casual musical listener? It's comes across like her label are just trying to build her musical career out of err..her career from the X-Factor. Shouldn't a debut single be an opportunity to define your craft and express some sense of artistry?! Yes people do not like her for what she was on the X-Factor. Why release a song that's essentially two fingers to anyone that's questioned any aspect of her persona or personality? Prove people wrong! The whole flow of the track is disjointed and a mess. The progression from verse into chorus is jarring. The structure as a whole doesn't work. The bizarre into/outro steals from Swedish House Mafia. Is it a noted sample? If it is...why sample something that came out a year ago? Those strange Flo Rida RedOne-lite "yeah" noises. Just eh? It's just so flawed. The Video A mess from beginning to end. The graphics look cheesy and the colour palette is ill-fitting. The backgrounds look lazy and add no tone, texture or context to the video. As a direct comparison Alexis Jordan's video for "Happiness" video took the idea and made it work. The background graphics juxtaposed with the tone of the song ENHANCED the whole thing. That sort of distant/lonely tone the song took. Brilliant. Here it comes across as more Rebecca Black than anything else. Her styling seems to have taken the 'everything but the kitchen sense approach'. For a start there are too many outfit changes in short bursts of time and what she's wearing looks more like fancy dress, nothing anyone would ever wear without being referred to as ridiculous nor could you classify it as "art" a la GaGa. It's just messy and overbearing. The bizarre hairstyles likewise. Hideous. The dancing looks incredibly restrained, convoluted and awkward. There's no real sense of rhythm or purpose. Too many people in the video who just act as clichéd "cool dancers" there to "look cool". Overall The whole launch is just a hodge podge of borrowed ideas and stolen identities. Be it Keri Hilson, Cheryl Cole, Swedish House Mafia and more they all have a part to play in this. I want to make it clear I am no 'h8r' of Cher, in fact I thought she was very good in parts of X-Factor. It just makes it a greater shame that a girl who showed some flair and something different for X-Factor is using all her past context to launch herself. Be that new artist you want to be, win those haters over. Don't launch back. Syco need to have some faith in her as some kind of original artist and not play on her history. More scope, more faith and a more streamlined and clear vision in all areas be it in terms of musicality, artistry and image.
