July 5, 201114 yr YES. Also a Nanne Grönvall cover or two to fit in with her looking like a younger Nanne on the Youtube freeze http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/icons/disco.gif
July 5, 201114 yr I'll never understand the whole 'she's only 17' thing. It'd be cruel if it was just some random 17 year old girl off the street that hadnt done anything that we were talking about but this is a girl who is in the public eye because she wants to be and her first single is all about 'haters'. If she was so bothered about these 'haters' since the X Factor she would not only have gone back into obscurity but also wouldn't have made her first ever song all about them. She obviously loves the attention and wants to be a singer so I think it's fair enough that we're allowed to have an opinion on it and criticize her if we don't like what she's doing. I actually really liked her after seeing her first audition because I thought it was something fresh and new but then she just started become really bratty. Also the fact that she stole the lyrics to the rap in her audition from someone else yet said she made it up herself kind of always stayed with me too. I've just always seen her as a bit disingenuous and like she just copies bits from everyone else and passes them off as her own like she's really original.
July 5, 201114 yr Not sure if this has been mentioned but the youtube vid has had up to 45000 dislikes.
July 5, 201114 yr Not sure if this has been mentioned but the youtube vid has had up to 45000 dislikes. Any publicity is good publicity. At least people are looking at it. I'm not particularly fond of Cher but she is only a kid and is entitled to a bit of teenage bravado - besides - I'm sure if this was a US singer behaving the same way - it would be seen as confidence rather than brattishness. Another thing - as bad as the song is (although the more I hear it the less and less it annoys me) its 100% better than that load of tosh that Nicola Roberts put out - and she had the benefit of about 10 years extra maturity on Cher Lloyd. July 7, 201114 yr "Eating alphabetti spaghetti and $h!tting out better lyrics than Cher Lloyd": this group speaks to me. Also, Jake I agree, her trying to pass off a Swizz Beatz song as her own was the turning point for me; I suppose she just assumed that no one who watched the show would be aware of his existance? That's the only explanation. jooLnnhTrbE "I've decided to put my own twist on it, so it's sort of like a rap, and I wrote my own lyrics aswell." AIht7jsvTX4 O dear. This all being said, I think the video for Swagger Jagger is good, not as cheap looking as I thought it would be; the song, Cher and her voice remain horrid though.
July 7, 201114 yr LOL I don't think it was a good move to claim these were her own lyrics. I used to think of her as just 'bad', now she's just plain awful. http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6058/335383649.jpg <3
July 7, 201114 yr I know everyone has already covered how shit the song is but... what the actual hell. I sat in amazement when I watched the video and heard the song for the first time. HILARITY.
July 7, 201114 yr Also, she seems to copy just about every current other artist with her 'new' looks. First the red hair like Rihanna, then the side shaved head like Ellie Goulding and now the Amy Whinehouse tattooed convict look WHATEVER NEXT?
July 7, 201114 yr Also, she seems to copy just about every current other artist with her 'new' looks. First the red hair like Rihanna, then the side shaved head like Ellie Goulding and now the Amy Whinehouse tattooed convict look WHATEVER NEXT? She never copies anyone. The red hair? just about every girl in the damn country started to dye their hair red. She has got stick ever since her first audition "ooh she's a white girl, what's she doing singing black urban type music", so she is already on the back foot. I loved her cause she was different, not this manufactured, sob story person. Yes, she shouldn't have been so brash at first but she was 16/17, very young and was just brutally honest. I will admit some moments she had me tearing my hair out at her stupidness, like the "gurning", the mike posner song and some of the tracks on the live shows. But from having most of the nation hating her, to managing to reach the final 4 is a massive achievement for such a marmite character. And love her or hate her, she gets publicity. Every move she makes, there are articles written about her. For some artist, like The Saturdays, Ellie Goulding, Sugababes etc they'd do anything for this. Its publicity. She will always have her core fan group, and she is gaining noteriety over in the states. Her music may not be to everyone's taste, but she will be the most successful one from last year. (*shrugs* i like her)
July 7, 201114 yr Rah rah rah. So what if she's 17? She's not a bloody baby. She wanted to be on TV. If she can't take the criticism then she never should have applied to be on the show. She's just a great big brat "oooo look at me I know a jay-Z song and have swag so I must be black...oh and I am definitely the best british rapper ever!x". The nation hates her because she's a brat. Do you really think Ellie Goulding and The Saturdays would go wild for publicity like Cher has got? The latters maybe (but even then I'd doubt it), but someone like Ellie Goulding has got to where she has through her own talent and song writing skills. She will never be big in the states. Do you honestly think that radio will play this? lol!!!!!
July 7, 201114 yr I'm like the biggest loon of Cher here bar Jonjo but she does act a bit of a brat sometimes. I love her and all, but it's true! Plus, people can dislike the song whether she's 17, 20, 39 or 72!
July 7, 201114 yr I hate everything about her and the song is absolutely ridiculous but I'm finding myself enjoying it as a guilty pleasure :(.
July 7, 201114 yr I agree with Liam. People shouldn't bring her age into it as it's her own fault for wanting to be in the spotlight at such a young age. Never did Britney, Christina, Justin T (part of N Sync) and the likes any harm (and they were even bigger than Cher, at the start of their careers). I do find the whole "she's only 17" thing as a ridiculous excuse. Onto her brattyness... I actually like it and find it oddly compelling and no different to any other 17 year old girl. Just because she's in the spotlight, doesn't necessarily mean she has to change her attitude. (Although it would help her more) But people need to remember she's just the usual 17 year old girl, who hasn't quite adapted to the "celebrity lifestyle" just yet. There's still time though. But that's just what I think.
July 7, 201114 yr I hate everything about her and the song is absolutely ridiculous but I'm finding myself enjoying it as a guilty pleasure :(. That's because it's f***ing incredible! The sooner people realise this the better. Ha, maybe a slight exaggeration but I LOVE it. Yes, she may behave like a brat, but give a $h!t?

Do you honestly think that radio will play this? lol!!!!! This quite frankly, somehow having a basic knowledge of urban music has meant that she became the self fashioned champion of the UK urban scene while she was on the X Factor; her clear "rapping" talent was just misunderstood by the public, she was clearly the future us poor backwards thinking folk couldn't grasp; not that her 'version' of Keri Hilson's Turn My Swag On couldn't be found on many home youtube videos (a lot showing more talent than Cher did herself) or that she claimed a Swizz Beatz song as her own, or that 'rapping' a verse of a Jay-Z song and mashing it with another song does not make her some kind of creative genius; no, what she did was simply unheard of! Everyone who disagrees, just doesn't 'get' what she's trying to, or is just a plain hater  Edited July 7, 201114 yr by Daniel II
July 8, 201114 yr What I fail to understand is how she went from being a Keri Hilson-type artist (her first X Factor audition) to a rapper-type artist?
July 8, 201114 yr What I fail to understand is how she went from being a Keri Hilson-type artist (her first X Factor audition) to a rapper-type artist? I imagine some of the older types at Syco thought the white girl doing black would work as a marketing tool but it always ends badly and even the good ones have had a hard time making it big-Lady Sov. I think Cher has been modelled on Jentina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqfUwcb4hok...feature=related
July 8, 201114 yr Think this will easily get to #1 when released. Music video currently receiving good airplay.. VIP track on a few channels too
