This is great, and a refreshing change, but I think we're all overreacting a tad. No chance of winning. SOZ.

Aren't you the person who comes in every year and says Greece are definitely winning?

Not for at least two babe. And they was robbed.

I don't think many people are genuinely expecting this to win, but I think there IS a possibility (albeit a small one) and for a UK entry that's a big change from the norm.
It sounds like it's in with a BIG shout of doing really, really well with the juries, and let's not forget that they have far more power now under the new voting system (given by being able to put a track at the bottom of their rankings they can penalise it, whereas a viewer can only positively vote). I don't think it will win (it's just that bit too MoR) but it definitely can't be ruled out, especially in a year as unremarkable as this one so far.
Personally, there is a lot I'm liking this year but that doesn't really mean anything! I think a win is feasible, but put a gun to my head and I'm predicting a 6th finish.
Really like that from the one listen I've just had. It sounds like something that really could do well and maybe win. Which means it will finish in 17th place.

I think the "winning" hype is mainly because none of the confirmed songs so far seem like winners.

Somebody has to win.

Excellent, definitely our best entry for an age! :cheer:
It's not sort of thing I really like but it sounds very...Eurovision-y and crucially it does actually sound current and not dated/sleep inducing, so job well done on that one, BBC!

I definitely can see it going at least top 10 if It's My Time could go top 5.

Agreed with Jack aboot the backing vocalists though :(

Getting high praise, even I like it, I mean this could actually get top 28!

It is MOR, but MOR in the same sense Only Teardrops was an that won...

Alcohol is Free was dire, but I loved 2011 Watch me Dance which should've won, you're right, robbed :snif:

Even liked Aphrodisiac but not as much as La La Lurv.

Lyrics!

Power to the people

Power to the people

I’m been tired of this thinking

So I drowned it all by drinking

Feels like a bitter pill

But I’ll just wash it down

With the taste of something sweet

That some doctor gave me

And this is my message

I’m not given in

We shine like diamonds

With fire in our bones

Stand beside you

After feeling that I’ll never walk alone

We’re children of the universe

Don’t you know

Dancing on the edge of time

Children of the universe

Yes children of the universe

Power to the people

Power to the people

Power to the people

You know what we want

And we got to get it now

Something’s stirring in the silence

and it wreaks of passive violence

Hold on tight cause opportunity will take

Couldn’t enter all the suffering before it gets too late

Hopes on the horizon

I’m not giving in

We’re the children of the universe

And don’t you know

It’s dancing on the edge of time

Eye to eye

Yes chidlren of the universe

We shine like diamonds

With love in our hearts

We say it’s the end

But I have a feeling it might just be the start

As I am

A fire in my bones

Standing beside you I have the feeling

That I’ll never walk alone

We’re children of the universe

Don’t you know

Yeah, dancing on the edge of time

We are the children of the unvierse

My favourite entry since 'I Can', for sure. I don't think I like it QUITE as much just yet, but it's definitely getting there! *.*

I can't help but thinking they could have found someone a little more well known, younger and fresher and given them this song and it would do alot better.

She will be 27 when the competition starts.. but she looks older than that at some points of her performance.

Still, a good song.. I think it can hold it's own, but it won't win.

Granny Molly for Eurovision? Ehhh....

Edited by Aaron.

I liked 'I Can' a lot, I even loved it! With a big name (it was STILL a big name at the point Blue were participating) I definitely thought they'd go top-3 and look where they ended up. :(

So I don't get my hopes up about this one yet.

Aaron, and you're saying 'granny' like it was always about young age for BBC! Molly is a CHILD compared to the previous entries! And she's definitely fresh enough to participate in ESC as a relatively new artist. BBC did almost the best this year, hopefully it will translate into the top-3 position at very least.
I applaud picking someone unknown and the song is very different to anything we have put in Eurovision for years. Unfortunately, i dont like the song at all myself to put it in a mannerly way but it is the type of song that i can see picking up votes and will probably result in the UK getting their best result in a few years.

I really like it on first listen, maybe a top 10 placing, I don't see it as the winner but it should do better than our last 2 years at least
