Best entry we've sent in YEARS!!! Better than Blue and Jade's songs, and I'd even argue it's better than Jessica Garlick in 2002. Best song since Katrina or Imaani then perhaps for me! Last year was a bit of a laugh supporting Bonnie, but I'll actually be proud to be supporting Molly on May 10th.

The studio version was played on BBC Radio 2 this morning apparently!
I liked 'I Can' a lot, I even loved it! With a big name (it was STILL a big name at the point Blue were participating) I definitely thought they'd go top-3 and look where they ended up. :(

So I don't get my hopes up about this one yet.

Public voted them 5th but the judges didn't like them.

I listened to that a few minutes ago, sounds great! :D I also wonder whether that is going to be the final version as on Sunday we found that Facebook post about it being mastered then so I wondered if this is already that final mastered version or not?
It's obviously a lot better than virtually all of our recent entries but I feel like it would be even better with a different singer, she sounds a bit too old-fashioned.
Sounds so much like Paradise in the studio version. I'm loving it though!
The strings though *.* Such great production, blows the other entries out of the water.
It sounds much better as the studio version as the annoying backing singers are much more toned down - but as she says in the interview they are important to the live performance as no pre-recorded backing vocals can be used on the night. I still think there is 'something' missing to the overall song which would make it amazing rather than just a good entry from the UK - i think the instrumental could do with a bit of a tweaking to make the flow of the song more cohesive though...

I've not shame in admitting I was having a good old sing along with this at work this morning when Ken Bruce played it, twice! *.*

She said she hopes to do some European promo as well but nothing's definite yet. It'd be great if she could.

I think some European promo would do the UK wonders. When Jade did loads of European promo we managed to finish 5th. And so far the entries seem quite weak compared to the last couple of years, which could give UK a chance of top 3! :cheer:

Plus, I'm loving the studio version!

EDIT: I was just looking on comparemyradio.com and according to that "Children of the Universe" was played on BBC Radio 1. It could be wrong because it hasn't listed the two BBC Radio 2 plays from earlier.

EDIT2: It's correct. Was played on Radio 1 according to those "Now Playing" Twitter accounts.

I like the song - and at very least, she can hardly any worse that the tired old veteran acts we've been using in recent years!
is it wrong that i'm hoping all of the countries yet to announce send the worst song they have ever sent just so the UK can finally win?!

I want the production on the chorus to be bigger and punchier, more Tedder-like with the crashing drums. I love the bit before the chorus, 'shining like diamonds with love in our hearts', her voice sounds FANTASTIC on it. The middle 8 is superb builds up to what should be a big production in the chorus and it just isn't quite enough for me.

That's all, I love the verses, bridge, middle 8 etc, I just want to give the chorus production a bit of a kick up the arse.

I think some people are being a BIT too excited.

The song is okay.

First time I hear the song/the artist and I don't quite get the appeal. It's the typical old Eurovision ballad that ends up every year at 20 or so.
