Posted May 27, 201312 yr After her last single flopped and missed the top 40 can she get back on form with this single or has she lost moment hem because of Pour It Up flopping..? With dance music doing badly on the charts eg.live it up,can t be a big hit or will it do average? 0FHdo7kxhW8
May 27, 201312 yr Dance music doing badly? Okay, perhaps this sort of generic dance has had it's time, but dance/house music like 'Waiting All Night', 'Need U (100%)', 'White Noise' etc. is definitely at its high this year! :P I guess it all depends on airplay. It's the sort of thing that Capital FM would get on board with - previous single 'Pour It Up' was *too* urban and I'm not sure whether it was ever given an official release in the UK. It could be a hit similar sized to 'Where Have You Been', although I'm thinking on a lesser scale.

It's just dance-pop, the same as SOS, Don't Stop the Music, etc, and that style of music isn't so popular anymore. It's produced by Nicky Romero apparently, but it could've been produced by Dr. Luke and I would've believed it. However, I think Right Now will go top 10, but it won't do as well in the charts as Where Have You Been. I do think Pour it Up flopping has hurt her momentum (and it's not too urban imo, since Thrift Shop, Mirrors, Blurred Lines, etc. have done amazing, it's mainly because Capital wouldn't play it imo). She should've released Jump. It's produced by Chase & Status and Stargate. It sounds like Easy Please Me by Katy B and samples Ginuwine. It's a much more likely hit in today's chart climate than Right Now, but oh well.
May 28, 201312 yr Mmm not sure, maybe it will. Where Have You Been? was hated by a lot of people I know into dance and I didn't like that one either. Too boring, but might just make top 10/20.
May 28, 201312 yr Sure the reason Pour It Up failed was because it was terrible? That's what I thought anyway.
May 28, 201312 yr Hopefully it doesn't miss the top 10 and instead can manage to miss the top 40 like her last single.
May 28, 201312 yr Hopefully it doesn't miss the top 10 and instead can manage to miss the top 40 like her last single. It's already made the top 40 though.
May 28, 201312 yr Sure the reason Pour It Up failed was because it was terrible? That's what I thought anyway. This. It didn't do badly because it was urban, it flopped it was a rubbish excuse for a song!

It's a much more likely hit in today's chart climate than Right Now, but oh well. They all sound the same to me. I just stick drum & bass/house/whatnot under one dance category and dance-pop under another. Also, I wasn't meaning to refer 'Right Now' as anything other than dance-pop, but looking back it does look like I suggested that. Those three songs, however, are catchy and have hooks, whereas 'Pour It Up' does not and sounds more those records you hear on radio late at night because no-one is bothered about it any other time. Haven't listened to 'Jump' but from the information you've given, it does sound very much like the thing that would take off in the charts today.
May 28, 201312 yr It's produced by Nicky Romero apparently, but it could've been produced by Dr. Luke and I would've believed it. Nicky Romero only co-produced it. It's produced by David Guetta, surely it's obvious as he's the one getting a credit :P I think this will be an easy top 10, Feel This Moment and Play Hard are proof that dance-pop can still do well if it's got big names behind it.
May 28, 201312 yr This. It didn't do badly because it was urban, it flopped it was a rubbish excuse for a song! Exactly. When we were playing it here, my friends said it was like she'd made it in ten minutes and was just terrible. Hopefully it doesn't miss the top 10 and instead can manage to miss the top 40 like her last single.
May 28, 201312 yr I would imagine this should go top10. Its a good dance track and similar to where have you been.
May 28, 201312 yr Its not as good as Where Have You been but i think it might just scrape the top 10. Jump would have been a better option tho i think
May 28, 201312 yr A lowlight from the album in my opinion, "Lost in Paradise" would've been a great choice for a dance single. Should do well though, the video and airplay are sure to be decent.
May 29, 201312 yr Poll and you tube video added. It's just a fan video, in fact the two in the video are not Rihanna and Guetta  I'd rather change it.
