Posted June 1, 201312 yr Australian pop royalty and ARIA Hall Of Famer Kylie Minogue overnight revealed her new single entitled ‘Skirt’. Although the track hasn't been officially released, evidence suggests this will be the first track from Kylie's new album. Yesterday, which was in fact Kylie’s birthday, a remix of ‘Skirt’ was released by Los Angeles based producer Nom De Strip. After posting the track on music sharing site Sound Cloud, De Strip also posted on his facebook page, “Chris Lake dropped the dub version of ‘Skirt’, my track with Kylie Minogue at Pacha Ibiza!” It’s been a year since Kylie released her last single ‘Timebomb’, and aside from a dub-step vibe to the track, we’re pretty certain that fans are going to really enjoy this new work from Australia's pop princess. At the beginning of the year Minogue parted ways with long-time manager Terry Blamey and signed with Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation. It is hoped that the new signing will help Kylie finally crack the US market, something she’s been longing to accomplish her whole career. Minogue’s last studio album, ‘Aphrodite’, was released in 2010 and reached number one on the ARIA Album Charts. Apparently the finishing touches are being made on her 12th studio album which is due for release later this year. June 1, 201312 yr I'm loving it, but I highly doubt it's a single. The chorus hit me after about the third listen, total anthem.
June 1, 201312 yr That article is awful, Aphrodite only got to #2 in Aus did it not? Correct. Funnily enough, I've seen numerous sources claiming that it hit number one in Australia (wishful thinking, perhaps?) As for the track 'Skirt', it took me a few listens to get into it but now I'm really enjoying it. Looking forward to hearing the official version as I can picture that being a mega tune! :music: I'm sort of with Silver Rocket and don't think it will be a single - at least not lead single - as I wouldn't have thought it would be purposely "leaked" if it was. It's got me excited for this album though! Hope to hear some more confirmed collaborations soon.

June 2, 201312 yr Love this track.... took me a few listens and a radio edit version would be good too..... think a good video and the hooks, lyrics and naughtiness of this song could really get Kylie back in the top 20 at least..... I was disappointed with All the Lovers & 2 Hearts as lead singles so I think this has big potential.... Kylie seems to have it everywhere on her twitter etc and these promo pics have surfaced so it could well be a lead single...
June 2, 201312 yr If it was the lead single (at least in this format) it would've been added to Vevo, press release etc once it leaked. It was clearly leaked by her team to create some buzz. BUZZ SINGLE if you will, but a genuine one, not just a flop lead single.
June 8, 201312 yr I don't think this will be the lead single. There has been no official announcement and it is purely speculation due to the track leaking in a remixed form.

June 8, 201312 yr She's released 4 pictures to her Instagram (similar to that seen above), with the words 'Tonight', 'Be', 'My', 'Supernova', so definitely something to do with 'Skirt'. BGT final tonight, FFS Kylie why do this today?!

June 9, 201312 yr Is there a lyric that goes "tonight, be my supernova" in Skirt? I think the four pictures are meant to be all together, not "tonight" on its own which would suggest something's happening tonight! :P
