Indeed i cant see Dizzee or Jason selling much more than 80k and falling pretty fast down the chart (which is poor for 2013!!)

John Legend, Van Morrison and Jay-Z have all been 59p and charting for at least a month now (Jay-Z coming up to 2 months) - I'm sure songs are usually put back to 99p after about a week?

I want Jason Derulo to go to #1 with TOS because it is definitely his best song - along with 'Ridin' Solo'. It probably surpasses it for me actually. There's something really anthemic about it and it is miles better than 'Don't Wanna Go Home' in EVERY single way. DWGH was amongst the worst number ones of 2011 while TOS would be amongst the best number ones of 2013 - and 2013 is a FAR BETTER year for #1s than 2011 so it says a lot.

Kodaline really deserve a top 10 hit but i dont think it will happen with this album, the album should make top 5 or or so i hope.

Icona Pop i believe have/will lose thousands of sales due to the delay, there are so many covers /alternatives which u like to call them available and some them have netted a few sales already which could take from the original.

1. The purchaser intended to buy the fake cover instead of/as well as the original.

2. They bought the fake by accident, and will have to buy the real one later.

 

Either way, that doesn't take only sales away from the real song...

I'm not sure actually. If they did release it then, it would've struggled to even get top 75. The pre-order wasn't even top 1500 and there was no radio support. Then if they saw that it was having no impact, I doubt they would have started giving it airplay later on. They did the right thing delaying it until June, but should have released it on the 3rd as they were going to do before they pushed it back again to the 30th.

Or they buy the fake thinking it's the original (unaware that the original has not been released), realise it's fake, and go away and get the real version illegally. Again, someone who wants the song that much is not going to wait around for weeks when they're able to get it now. I think it's actually quite notable that, despite the demand for the song obviously being VERY high as shown by the fake versions, the preorders for the real version aren't really that spectacular.
