Difference is I Found You had little/no hype compared to Walks Like Rihanna.

I noticed no hype for either songs tbh, so they were equal in my mind. Never heard either of them apart from on the radio.

It annoyed me how Glad You Came was a massive hit and they kept re-doing the song (with Chasing the Sun and I Found You), but a lot of other pop stars who get praised on here (e.g. Jennifer Loepz, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj) have also released essentially the same song multiple times.

EEEK. It's started already lol

How much have The Wanted got left? Their underperforming with a single that's had an immense amount of airplay.

Should be #07 on iTunes tomorrow.

Looks like this will outpeak 'Recovery' this week :o His album seems to have got a decent boost from this as well, was about to drop out of the top 100 but now comfortably top 75 again.

STILL climbing, this is ridiculous  Seems there will be 7 different versions of 'I Love It' making the top 100 within 4 weeks.

Anyone?

...so yeah, I think I said on the old thread that I saw The Wanted beating Icona Pop...

I've definitely completely misread their popularity and thought it would at least be a #2. If something this hyped can miss the top so spectacularly they're as good as finished.

Icona Pop still pulling away from Robin, I hope this is a sign that it could spend several weeks in the top 10! :D I think 'Wake Me Up' will end up being released in 2 or 3 weeks, the tribute version and it being playlisted all points to this happening - and I can see Avicii and his label being happy to move the release forward considerably unlike Icona Pop's label were! :kink:

Yeah probably. If I remember correctly, Levels's release date was moved forward.

Thanks to a f*** up from our label our new single is now available on ... album with a link posted

something along those lines

Check one of the replies to the tweet that's me informing them the clubland version will chart this week no matter what lol. Just shows you it's the labels fault at their own stupidity and lack of knowledge of how to achieve a decent chart position!!

Buzzjack member behind shock iTunes hit? :o

The fact the avvicci song is already charting as a fake 2 months before release just highlights the ridiculous nature of releases these days and even after the robin Thicke & daft punk releases too they still can't wake up & smell the chocolate!!

Anyone know of any compilation album Avicci might be on

When is sneakbo ring a ling out? Radio 1 alist could be the novelty hit of the summer it sounds like something people on holidays would be loving lol
You are aware Robin Thicke was held back ages?

Yes but the label reacted also by bringing forward the release by 3 weeks.

It's not an under-performance imo. Look at last week's thread, I told everybody again and again this wasn't going to #1. I Found You, which I think was their previous single, was a top 5 hit, sold 100,000, this song will probably do similar to that, that's what I expect from The Wanted these days.

And JLS's most recent single missed the top 100 entirely I think lol. Sometimes a group themselves decides to break up or take a hiatus, like the Black Eyed Peas, N-Dubz, Girls Aloud, etc. Not always because of flopping. But I guess when a boy group does decides to break up people's irrational hatred for them takes over again.

There were some good things about 2009. Dizzee and Tinchy dominating. Eminem and The Black Eyed Peas releasing their first albums after long breaks (and the BEPs dominating majorly!). But that was also the year that produced Break Your Heart by Taio Cruz. :drama:

The JLS single that missed the top 100 was post-album though wasn't it? Their last couple of pre-album singles both made #6 (barely any worse than The Wanted's new one), which combined with mediocre album sales (and the Wanted if anything do even worse in album sales than JLS) wasn't good enough for their label. It wasn't just a case of JLS deciding to split, they pretty much admitted they'd been dropped because one of the bandmembers said at the time "we had to decide whether we wanted to look for another label or call it a day".

Again, the Wanted aren't flops compared to most of the artists toiling out there on independent labels and just hoping to get on the charts in the first place, but for an act on a major record label with the type of promotion, exposure and budgets they get, their recent performances are very underwhelming.

July 7th - EP currently at #298 on the album chart, could well be his highest peaking single

Marcus Butler's a YouTuber, I think he released this to celebrate getting a million subscribers but I may be wrong.
