July 9, 201312 yr They are indeed, but music changed in the 1990's so drastically to when 'Bad' was released (1987) that he kind of had to change his sound to fit current trends I guess. Although I think 'Dangerous' was quite ahead of its time.

"Smooth Criminal" is easily his standout, it needs to win.
