Oh wow, maybe John could get a second week after all :o Probably on quite a substantial sales drop though, at a rough guess I'd say 70-75k.

Could get 2 weeks at #1 without getting a single week at #1 on the 'Big Top 40', without even having to rely on multiple versions

Iggy  #15

Katy :right: #29

I think Iggy will go top 10 sometime tomorrow, though I'm unconvinced it'll translate to a top 10 position come Sunday. Katy's stalling is unfortunate but it serves her right for releasing the song. Bland bland bland, not a patch on any previous single of hers.

14. Iggy Azalea - Bounce

Well, I had some spare time so I thought I'd try and do some maths to work out an approximate overall position for those pre-orders that can only been seen on the genre charts. I know no-one will find this interesting at all, but one day you might just find one of these calculations useful (I know I will! :kink:)

My methodology is as follows (I chose these genres as these are the genre charts that have pre-orders to be released this month):

  • Overall #1500 = Pop #458 = 1 Pop song every 3.28 songs in the Overall chart
  • Overall #1487 = Reggae #32 = 1 Reggae song every 46.88 songs in the Overall chart
  • Overall #1492 = Soundtrack #42 = 1 Soundtrack song every 35.71 songs in the Overall chart
  • Overall #1444 = Singer/Songwriter #47 = 1 Singer/Songwriter song every 31.91 songs in the Overall chart
  • Overall #1496 = Hip-Hop #163 = 1 Hip-Hop song every 9.20 songs in the Overall chart
Then all I did was multiply the numbers in bold by the pre-order's position in the genre chart. Obviously this is most accurate for the songs in the pop chart due to the overall chart being dominated by them, but it still gives me an idea of positions for songs in all 4 genre charts.

So along with the position we know due to being in the top 1500 anyway, here are the positions I've come up with for many of the single pre-orders being released this month:

Pre-order Update

21. Avicii - Wake Me Up (14 July 2013)

184. Breach - Jack (14 July 2013)

205. Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop (04 August 2013)

290. Selena Gomez - Come & Get It (14 July 2013)

447. Mutya, Keisha, Siobhan - Flatline (01 September 2013)

480. Avril Lavigne - Here's To Never Growing Up (14 July 2013)

1373. K Koke - My Time (feat. Bridget Kelly) (14 July 2013)

1565. Diana Vickers - Cinderella (21 July 2013) (477 on Pop chart)

1978. Lucy Spraggan - Lighthouse (14 July 2013) (62 on Singer/Songwriter chart)

2099. Eliza Doolittle - Big When I Was Little (28 July 2013) (640 on Pop chart)

3282. Shy FX - Soon Come (28 July 2013) (70 on Reggae chart)

4920. A*M*E - Heartless (14 July 2013) (not in top 1500 on Pop chart therefore this will be very innaccurate)

13284. Britney Spears - Ooh La La (28 July 2013) (372 on Soundtrack chart)

Those positions lower than the top 1500 were calculated using the positions from genre charts explained above.

Well, I find that very interesting but I doubt anyone else will!

Oops, that post was a lot longer and more complicated than it seemed when I was writing it!

I'm loving John's song more now, definitely wouldn't mind it spending a second week if there's no new releases that can do it.

Come on Iggy, please get top 10!

1452. Picasso Baby - JAY Z

Mostly the collaborations doing the best then, no shock there. 'Holy Grail' doing pretty well, may contend for the top 20 this week?

A nice quite week for a change with no reality shows, could be one or two NE from post album tracks and new peaks for singles.

Annoying the way John Newmans sales will fall to 70-80k because he was held back so loong but hope he gets a second week. Getting back into the Spectrum type sales & chart runs although hopefully Avicci/Aloe & 1D will change that in the coming weeks!!

Never thought I see John Newman back at #1... ha, going to be a close one this week.
:o GET IN.

He has risen up in the charts again!

He is SLAYING AGAIN!!

Is it too early to be thinking Ho Hey could be a million seller?

I really hope so  .

I think 'Ho Hey' needs to be reduced to 59p, the song is asking for a nu peak!

YES

Eventually followed by a campaign to make it the Xmas #1 :cheer:

YES!!!!

hopefully Avicci/Aloe & 1D will change that in the coming weeks!!

Hopefully not in the case of 1D.

10 Chase & Status 0.3657

19 Daft Punk 0.2308

26 Daft Punk 0.1697

Total: 0.4005

Daft Punk could still be top 10 this week - interesting seeing how close they were to dropping out last week :o

Kesha is on The Radio 1 Breakfast show on Friday so hopefully she'll do some promo for Crazy Kids! I'm actually starting to like it after despising the first two singles.

69. Holy Grail (feat. Justin Timberlake)

WOW... pretty high already.

Blurred Lines  1

Love Me Again  2

Up down up down

How on earth? on KWORB there is still 5% between them for John.

54. JAY Z - Holy Grail (feat. Justin Timberlake) Download

Rising very quickly... I wish it was top 10... song of the year for me (for a mainstream artist...), I think this could be BIG.

 13. Iggy Azalea - Bounce

152. Ciara - I'm Out (feat. Nicki Minaj)

Looks like the #Beautiful remixes have been released for Mariah. Hope they can actually do something to impact on the original, but i doubt it as they are mostly atrocious.
