Bastille matching their #42 peak with 'Laura Palmer', I see. If only this could just sneak a week in the Top 40! Shame that Jake Bugg's 'Broken' missed out this week too, despite being Top 40 on Wednesday's update. I do hope it can make it since his best singles have made it.

Happy Mumford & Sons made number one over Michael Buble since he will have more chances to return there in the next few weeks.

I wonder if the fact that Icona Pop took so long to release their single will affect its chart longevity in the long run.

59p song overload this week. 13 top 100 re-entries and a few other climbs due to it. Mostly good songs though!

Empire Of The Sun grabbing a top 100 single thanks to the release of their remix EP (mainly the Zedd remix).

Wasn't expecting 'Babel' (song) to have managed a top 100 re-entry, but a new peak frustratingly close to the top 75 and ahead of 'The Cave' :o All 3 of their re-entries are higher than I expected actually! 'Little Lion Man' back in the top 50 :D

Lewis Watson seems to be growing in popularity, still almost entirely EP sales getting him that #69 though (he charted at #86 with 'Into The Wild' thanks to EP sales a few months back). One to watch for big things in the future I think.

New Music Masters actually CLIMBING 10 places this week  Ridiculous. Looks like it's here to stay for a few weeks.

Oh poor Saturdays. Clearly OVERSHADOWED by King Newman's debut single, he's made a 'Laura Palmer' out of them

(still not happy about Laura Palmer missing top 40 btw  )

Shame that Jake Bugg's 'Broken' missed out this week too, despite being Top 40 on Wednesday's update. I do hope it can make it since his best singles have made it.

I'm still gutted that "Seen It All", easily the most appealing (and musically superior) single 'only' managed to peak at #53.

"Broken" has become Bugg's first hit in Ireland though, interestingly. It debuted at #20 this week.

Nice chart run for Babel: 1-2-1-2-5-7-9-14-16-22-15-13-11-15-14-15-18-18-18-17-5-2-2-8-7-12-12-13-16-14-15-23-24-24-35-37-31-27-24-16-1-
The chart positions for The Saturdays are starting to feel as if they're chosen by a random numbers generator. 'Gentleman' was never going to be huge, but #14 is just embarrassing when even '30 Days' managed a respectable enough position. It's a bit of a shame as well, as this flop is probably just going to encourage them to release more stuff like 'What About Us'.

Should hope so, 'Gentlemen' is just random

Would love to know where 'Dip It Low' & 'About You Now' ended up this week.

Didn't expect to see Lewis Watson chart, I didn't notice it doing well on iTunes :o Nice song though, he's like a slightly folkier non-ginger Ed Sheeran (he has the freckles though, bizarrely).

WTF at the Icona Pop fake climbing? Judging by the title of the track, I guess people are just typing 'I don't care I love it' in the iTunes search bar and coming up with that first and downloading it  Well thought out title, if it was just called I Love It like the original then it would have dropped out the chart by now!

Massive male domination in the album chart, the entire top 16! :o

The singles chart too (well, the entire top 16 isn't male, but most of the chart is).

He also has physicals ;)

THIS

28 22 09 Mariah Carey Feat. Miguel #Beautiful

Our Mariah got the coveted #28 for this week's chart!

Saturdays were twice as high as I predicted in the end (here...). Wanted out of the top 10 as I did expect in 1 week.

Our Mariah got the coveted #28 for this week's chart!

Is there something special about the number 28?

Like I said, Lewis Watson's chart position is almost entirely down to sales of his 'Four More Songs' EP - as it doesn't have a title track the OCC combines its sales to track 1 which is 'Calling'. See also what happened with Knife Party's last EP.

New Music Masters have 4 versions on iTunes (on a little album that also has fakes of several other songs, including a few other duplicates) - 2 of the others are just called 'I Love It' and the 4th is just called 'I Don't Care' That version is currently #214 on iTunes while one of the 'I Love It' versions is #385, the other isn't top 1,500. I assume that they must be combined despite the different titles, as #51 is much higher than 'I Don't Care I Love It' has been on iTunes.

I agree with your theory by the way. Just tested it and there's no sign of Icona Pop anywhere when you search for 'i don't care i love it'.

Indeed the fact we have 59p songs, fakes & old hits re-entering doesnt help cool my patience at it holding new songs out of the charts top 40 zone!

Think that symbolises their lack of a massive fan base (for a girl pop band) & so they have to make good songs to chart high like What About Now!
