Yes, this song is over a year old (as it was a hit in the German speaking countries and some other parts of Europe), but the Cedric Gervais remix has given this song new life worldwide. And now that it's playlisted on Radio 1, can the song finally become a hit?

#1, I think it'll be this year's 'Spectrum'.

 

I think it's one of the dullest tracks on the album, although this remix improves it a bit.

Top 20.

Top 20 but maybe Top 10 at a push. The remix has already been released so I can't see it reaching Number 1.

I :heart: every Lana song I've heard, and her album is my new all-time favourite - so naturally I want this to go to #1!

I love this remix, could do a "Spectrum", its also sounds like a summer anthem for some reason, hence the the title of the track. I would love it go to #1, on top of the all the recent dance #1s of the year.

I really love this remix, I'm usually not keen on them but this really adds something to the song. I think #1 would be too optimistic as the remix doesn't sound as mainstream as Calvin's remix of 'Spectrum', I'd be more than happy with Top 20 but I think Top 40 is more reasonable.

FYI, it has already spent 4 weeks on the chart, with a peak of #132, with logged sales of 6.5k - but as it's been available since January last year, it must have tens of thousands of cherry-picked sales too.

One of my favourites from the album and this remix has just sparked some new life into it. Really hope it can do well, but i doubt it will come anywhere close to matching Spectrum's success.

'Summertime Sadness' is a sublime song imo, topped my chart last year whilst it was a hit in Europe. Would love to see this track become a genuine hit, and if it takes a remix to achieve that then yay! \o/ (I still much prefer the remix of 'Spectrum' to the original though)

I don't even mind that it'll be a remix getting the success! Just happy for Lana to get another hit. I'm going to be pessimistic and say top 40 but I really don't know how well it could do. Could even make the top 5!

Summertime Sadness is probably my fave from Lana, and this remix is fabulous! Hopefully her highest peaker but I have no idea how it will do, could be anything from top 5 to top 40 really :lol:

It will do a Spectrum but not quite on the same scale. Maybe Top 5?

I suppose it being a hit in Europe explains why I heard it so much in Gran Canaria last September, and in Ibiza last month. I did think that was bizarre...

The remix doesn't strike me as a huge hit (it's a bit clunky) but it's taking off rapidly in the US so that should follow here. Depends which version of the song Radio 1 are actually playing.

It will 120% not be a #1. It would have to sell 70-80k at the very very least to do so (sales won't decline much at all during the summer - we're in the middle of it right now?! :lol:) and it won't do that.

 

Anyway, it will be lucky to make the Top 30 and I think that's as far as it's going to go. I would LOVE to see it getting a high chart position though, the remix is quite frankly epic.

Oh, the remix is already out there? Damn, maybe not top 5 then.

 

They should hold back the remix for about 3 weeks and just push it out there like they did with 'Spectrum'.

I don't really like it when remixes take away from the popularity of the original of a song, and in the case of Spectrum I find it sad that barely anyone bought the original (I was one of the few who did because as well as not liking remixes, I thought it was better all around). However, it was nice that it got Florence + the Machine a number 1 single even if it did need the help of Calvin Harris. I'd say I feel the same about this, although it won't do as well as Spectrum, but again, if it sells well for Lana Del Rey I'll be pleased anyway, especially seeing as I liked this song about a year ago and it would be great to see it doing well. I'll predict top 10 but it could be lower.
