I don't think the album flopped. It was just unfortunate timing as she had to leave the campaign to re-join Girls Aloud. I'm sure she could've sold more if she continued

I see this argument alot and I'm never convinced that Girls Aloud reforming is major cause for her lack of campaigning. She didn't do anything to promote the album during the summer when Girls Aloud hadn't reformed yet.

She released a second single with some promo, a book, a tour, an hour-long tv special of the tour, a video for Ghetto Baby, performed at Jingle Bell Ball. Releasing an official third single in the new year wouldn't have added much more album sales.

Excited for this album. It won't be too long now for the first single!

Following a two-year hiatus, pop royalty, Cheryl Cole is back with a bang with her new single ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ on 20th July on Polydor records.

The new single, featuring Tinie Tempah, is a blast of feel good pop. The song sees Cheryl reunited with songwriter Wayne Wilkins who also wrote her million-selling debut ‘Fight For This Love.’

‘Crazy Stupid Love’ will premiere on UK radio on Monday 2nd June. The video for the single, directed by Colin Tilley, will premier on VEVO on 9th June.

“I can’t remember being so excited to be releasing new music,” says Cheryl. “After taking some time out I feel brand new and I had such a special time making this record.”

‘Crazy Stupid Love’ is the first single taken from Cheryl’s forthcoming as-yet-untitled album which will be released this autumn. For the new record Cheryl has worked with writers and producers ranging from Sia and Greg Kurstin to Nicola Roberts.

This will be Cheryl’s ninth single release. Cheryl has an impressive chart record with three #1 singles and countless top ten singles. And her three solo albums have included the #1 multi-platinum albums ‘3 Words’ and ‘Messy Little Raindrops’. Cheryl’s videos have amassed over 200 million combined views.

Cheryl will be back on stage performing ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on June 21st. Cheryl is no stranger to the event. She dazzled as a surprise guest in 2012 when she performed her #1 single ‘Call My Name.’ She also returned later that year for Jingle Bell Ball where she performed a full set.

People confirmed working on the album : Sia, Wayne Wilkins, Greg Kurstin and Nicola Roberts! Great!

So is it looking likely that she isnt going to be performing on BGT? I hope it is more Call My Name / Under The Sun and less Promise This / Parachute.

So THREE (at a push, i.e. including 'Heartbreaker') is 'countless'?

 What a ridiculously stupid and patronising use of the term, even by press release standards!

You mean SIX not THREE Top 10 singles :P

No, not in the context of that article. It already lists the #1s separately.

No thanks. We need Fight For This Love part 2. Or 3 Words part 2. Looks likely too given she's worked with the same people on the song.

Surprised no one has been commenting on Sia working on this new album! :o

I know people are gonna say she will get a reject track from Sia, but if she can get something as good as "Ghetto baby" from Lana Del Rey for the previous album, I am super excited for this! :cheer:

Oh and no mention of will.i.am so far! Interesting. :kink:

You've lost me there mate...

"Cheryl has an impressive chart record with three #1 singles and countless top ten singles."

"...and countless top ten singles" in this sentence is like it's in addition to the "three #1 singles" already stated, rather than also including them. It's definitely a push to say "countless" anyway!

~

Loving the two photos, and I approve of the list of names involved in the project. I really don't have anything against will.i.am, but it would be very refreshing if he wasn't involved at all in this Cheryl project.

Apparently there is a track by the producers of "The monster" as well.

Thanks For clearing that up Jay. I really wasn't on the same wavelength as Noahspike on Friday.

I guess it would help if I could actually read  :P

I'm quite glad he's not involved. I don't have anything against will.i.am at all, but he has more than enough featured tracks across the first three albums.

The album is called 'Only Human' if a tweet that ATRL have referred to is reliable.
Ooh, interesting! I'll wait until proper confirmation before adding it to the thread title but that's not too bad a name.
Cheryl confirmed that the album is indeed called 'Only Human' on The Graham Norton Show!
