Was that not The Suburbs though?

I mean, I really liked the Suburbs, but...

From the sounds of it Reflektor makes The Suburbs seem concise. At least the latter's individual songs weren't of any great length and mostly fairly simple.

THIS HAS LEAKED.

BRB LEARNING HOW TO BREATHE AGAIN

Bad Q though, I don't think Harves of you should bother with it tbh.

edit2: The good Q is out YAY

Fabulous album. Porno, Afterlife, We Exist! Amazing. Not many tracks are instant though but I'm sure I'll come around to adoring most of them at one point.

I was worried after the mixed reviews but this is easily their best since Funeral.

Fantastic stuff. James Murphy has also redeemed himself after the messes he helped with on Mosquito.

Agreeing with the triangular one, I think this is excellent. I've listened to it all the way through about 5 times so far and haven't felt the slightest desire to skip a single second of it. Far more enjoyable as a whole for me than either The Suburbs or Neon Bible.

They're playing in Glasgow and only gave us two weeks' notice. What the flying FUCK.

OK, I was worried with the understated feel of the lead single and the rather bombastic lengths of the songs that this would be a disappointment, but it definitely wasn't. Really strong album as a whole, definitely a lot less accessible than Neon Bible/The Suburbs but no less beautiful.

The only thing that irked me about it is lack of vocals from Regine, I think her voice would've fit wonderfully on some of these songs :(

Agree with this - I think that's why I'm not instantly finding it as great as The Suburbs. It'll certainly grow, though, and I love 'We Exist', 'Porno' and 'Afterlife'.

'Afterlife' especially, after this, which you've probably all seen but I'm still not over how happy it makes me:

Afterlife is easily the best track on the album after Reflektor! Looking forward to hearing it everywhere (please).

I don't get the criticism towards the video :( Yes, Garfield is a straight male but the character he's playing doesn't really seem to be someone who is at the late stages of transformation ("young person's struggle with gender identity"), therefore it's not really logical to have a transgender woman play the character.

And as for the ending, I don't think there's anything wrong with it as well. It has nothing to do with Arcade Fire and Coachella and stuff, but it conveys the simple positive message that there are people who accept you no matter who you are, etc.

Moreover, like Win Butler said, seeing someone who plays a f***ing Spider-Man play a transgender person is indeed pretty damn powerful.

Don't know what Laura Jane Grace was awn~

This is quite simply the best thing Arcade Fire have ever done.

For so many reasons...

I agree w/ a lot of the criticism directed at the video but I also just mostly think it's really lame lol

How so Ben?

Admittedly I find the first half of the video better than the second half which is no more than a fantasy sequence and is very cheesy.
