I don't really rate 'Sonnentanz' on first listen but 'Earthquake' is amazing! Diplo needs a credited #1! Sadly it'll probably chart low top 10 at best.

Here's to hoping 'Applause' is going to debut with BTW-like sales. With 2 extra days more than BTW had it could snatch it! A 5th Gaga UK #1 GO!

I wonder if Katy Perry drops her track anytime soon, pushing poor Ellie down to #3 :(
I've been loving Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) these past few weeks. Some absolutely superb deep house; up there with Baby by Ruidmental and MNEK.

I'd be all for it. We need the charts to be fresh again after a very slow moving top 10 for goodness knows how long :drama:

Or if Katy Perry's team decide to bring the release of 'ROAR' forward to this coming Sunday. Ellie Vs GaGa, followed by Katy Vs Sonnentanz, and even then Ellie and GaGa could hold up next week too. It could end up like last year when 'Skyfall', 'Diamonds' and 'Live While We're Young' all got released in the same week.

"Aber was ist mit der Sonnetanzen?"

Ideally, Katy will opt for a friday release and be blocked by Gaga this week. And then when the music video for 'Applause' drops next week, she'll be blocked again. :kink:

I must admit it be a good single battle with at least 2 tracks in 6 figures (its a possibility within 5 days), not sure if Ellie can muster 6 figures though, otherwise it would be a great top 3, with lots of fresh new entries inside the top 10.

Applause is released on iTunes simultaneously worldwide at midnight tonight New York time. So that should be circa 5AM tomorrow morning in the UK.

Looks like Ellie can kiss that #1 goodbye. :(

That is peak for Ellie Goulding, just when she was about to be #1

I guess Gaga will be #1 on iTunes by this time tomorrow.

Set your alarms for an early morning, let's hope iTunes dosen't crash :(

Who's gonna wake up at 5AM just to buy Lady Gaga?

I can't see 'Applause' being a huge seller though. More 'Paparazzi' sales than 'Just Dance'/'Poker Face'.

Tis all about the longevity. Obviously it'll fly to #1 on iTunes on hype/fanbase alone, but I don't see it doing as well as Born This Way tbh

Poor Ellie! She'll be forced to rejoin people like Alicia Keys again who have had many chart hits, with none of them being #1 but with a couple of them coming admirably close.

Also sucks that I think Ellie Goulding and Lady Gaga are on the same record label in the UK. :lol :(

Yeah I think it'll probably spend 7/8 weeks top 10 and then fall more quickly once it is out the top 10 only for it to be boosted when the album is released.

While I only like the verses, it is by far her best lead single to date.

And Dannii Minogue. :kink:

Did I Kissed A Girl debut at #1? or did it enter at a lower position? i remember there being a fuss over releasing it early or something like that.
