I think based on that, 'Applause' is on for a #4 debut this week.

I'm so surprised 'Loving You' is looking at top 10, but when I think about it I can see it becoming one of those that picks up and sticks around, maybe even peaking higher at a later date. I do like it though!

I did not expect Avicii to get back up to number 2 already, hope he can hold on!

Good to see the 5 new entries holding inside the top 10, it would be great to see them chart on Sunday!

Not happy that Jason Derulo crap is climbing on pre orders and Klangkarussell have stalled, I had hoped they would be close to top 40 by now

Is Loving You doing well on pre-orders then? I've heard it a few times and I didn't think much of it even though it was nice.

I would hugely welcome both Mel C and Matt Cardle back to the top 40 and would extra welcome them to chart as high as possible. I really hope it will happen and that the track can manage to stick around.

59p songs in the top 100:

 47 Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

Not *again*. Why can't this detestable thing just go away?

:left: 70 Coldplay - Paradise

At least this will nudge it up towards the million mark a little more.

:ne: 75 Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag

0/10 for originality.

Not everyone hates it... ;)

Besides, AFAICS it's the first time this year it's been reduced to 59p.

So you don't mind *this* one nudging towards 1m...

I do admit that Chasing Cars did get boring when every radio station under the sun was thrashing it, but now the airplay has died down, I can actually listen and enjoy it again. I'd love for Chasing Cars and Coldplay to join the million sellers list. Both are big signature songs of the past 10 years & shall be remembered for years to come!

It's been quite obvious for a while that 'Chasing Cars' will pass the million mark at some point, Snow Patrol are one of my favourite bands aside from that one song so I'm happy they'll have a million seller even if it has to be with the most depressing song ever made. Could 'Chasing Cars' stop selling and 'Called Out In The Dark' suddenly sell hundreds of thousands more copies and get there instead though :P

Glad it and Wheatus are staying short of the top 40 this time anyway. I wish iTunes would not keep repeating the songs they reduce to 59p, even though I'm being hypocritical and supporting the continued 59p reductions of the likes of 'Use Somebody' and 'Paradise'.

 8. Boom Boom (Heartbeat) [feat. Rachel K Collier] [Radio Edit] - Ray Foxx

 9. Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? - Arctic Monkeys

Don't think this new AM track will hold up quite as well as 'Do I Wanna Know?' but hopefully it's done enough to secure a top 10 debut by now. Top 5 in the Wednesday mids is a great start.

I'm rooting for Loving You to do a Moves Like Jagger, unfashionable artists with no major initial support besides Radio 2 that results in a huge smash. Obviously it wouldn't be anywhere near as big as that but I'd love to see it sell a decent amount, it's a brilliant song and Melanie C especially deserves another hit, she's one of the UK's best female voices imo.

I imagine you're right. It just *seems* to have been around forever.

Of course not, I like this one. Surely everybody wants tracks they like

to sell as well as possible but not want the same for those they don't like?

In a year of chart shocks and comebacks, Mel C & Matt Cardle getting a top 40 hit would be the biggest one!!

AM should be grand for top 10 this week and its straight into the blist on radio 1 so from Monday it should start getting a decent amount of radio plays, but if people dont like the song itself it could still fall quicker than DIWK, i think itll be fine though!!

I never thought Loving You would do so well, at first I was in two minds over the track, it has certainly grown on me the past few days. Besides that, I never expected Matt Cardle and Melanie C to get another top 10 hit, plus the track is different, pretty much will stand out among the top 10, if the track gets there, I'm hoping it well.

The Fray's 'How to Save a Life' runs it close for that particular acolade but I think we have a winner......

Must be unusual though to really like a band but seriously hate their best selling track, their signature tune, the one song everybody knows them by.

Hang on, have I missed something? Why is everyone predicting Loving You to be a Top 10 hit? What's that based on??

It's top 200 on pre-orders alone and has been hanging around in the top 300/400 for a few weeks. Also seems to be getting a decent amount of airplay.

I think everyone is completely overestimating 'Loving You'. I think it'll be one of those rare cases where it debuts rather high on iTunes at 2am but barely climbs if at all. I don't think there are enough casual buyers who have been exposed to the song.

Yeah I would tend to agree. As much as I'd love it to be a big hit, I think there's a lot of wishful thinking going on here!
