April 3, 201411 yr Author Another (great) Sweet California song just leaked called Hell To The No, what a trashtastic title *.* These girls have a lot of potential for me to make great pop music, will definitely keep an eye on their future output. You can hear it here: http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/sweet-cal...lbum-tracklist/ It also has the album details, out in two weeks :cheer:
April 15, 201411 yr Author Sweet California make it another 8th place finish For the SIXTH time in the history of the contest, FSR Rontvia has finished in 8th place, marking its 38th top ten finish. Spanish girl group Sweet California's This Is The Life scored 109 points. Ricardo Delta, head of RTVN said: "We're chuffed with this result. The song attracted a lot of mixed reactions due to its low production values but we're pleased to see that a great melody can still get you far in this contest. It's been a big top five hit in FSR Rontvia, even in competitive Eurovision season, and it seems to be taking off in some other countries too which we're happy to see. It's been nice to return to our pop roots for a couple of months and we hope to continue this hit rate, finishing top half in the final for five contests in a row is extremely hard to do these days and we're proud to have achieved this!" Eledan won the contest, hosted by FARC and Aeroche, with RuPaul's Sissy That Walk.
April 15, 201411 yr Author Any country who can get Best Friend's Brother into the final could have easily got away with this.
April 15, 201411 yr I mean if they sent it now ~ XXXV was a different time. (A time when Sweet California would have probably won, eww)
April 15, 201411 yr XXXV was a better time, I miss the Scandipop revival of the late 20's/early 30's.

April 16, 201411 yr Author Had any wins since the Paleozolic era? :D Technically, but I lost out on a tie :(
April 19, 201411 yr Author Not sure where to post this but I didn't want to spam the lounge so I'll pop it in here just in case anybody is interested in voting. My friend and I have launched a contest called UK Calling 2014. Basically it's 10 British songs competing against each other, the winner of which will go towards a future competition with the winning songs from other countries (the selection processes of which are run by other people from those countries). It's a varied selection of songs of different genres, I was responsible for songs 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, some of which will come as no surprise! My friend picked the other five! Hoping to get a few BJ voters involved so if you have time to listen to 10 songs please do, it's got quite an interesting voting system too, you have 10 points to distribute across the 10 songs, in any way you wish, so you can give more to your favourites! I'm running it through my blog as it seemed like an obvious place to do so. Here's the link, it's open until the end of May so no rush! http://poplovedance.blogspot.co.uk/p/uk-ca...4-comeback.html
April 29, 201411 yr Author Dutch DJ's tribute to his wife represents FSR Rontvia for BJSC 64 Having sent possibly the tackiest song the contest has seen since Budtar were around last month with Sweet California's 8th placed This Is The Life, FSR Rontvia have as always changed tack completely and this month are sending RAMelia (Tribute To Amelia) by Dutch DJ RAM and singer Susana. The song is a beautiful and emotional ballad for the first minute and a half that then turns into a stunning trance anthem with heartfelt vocals throughout. It is a prime example of how warm the trance genre can be, and akin to the sorts of songs that were topping the Rontvian charts regularly between 1999-2002. The track has been championed by dance legend Armin Van Buuren who has included it on his A State Of Trance 2014 compilation. The song, which has already hit the top three in the Rontvian charts in the busy Eurovision season, is a touching tribute to RAM's wife Amelia who died last year after a battle with cancer. Ricardo Delta, head of the RTVN, said: "RAMelia really is an absolutely stunning track. I don't think anything we say can explain the beauty of the song more than the music itself." IbYRj2bMNZU
April 29, 201411 yr Kinda wish it stayed a ballad the entire way through (Candlelight Remix must be on the horizon) as the ballad is stunning! Talking of Candlelight remixes, it is very DJ Sammy.
April 29, 201411 yr INTERESTING as I was very close to sending Empire Of Hearts from that compilation, delving into my potentials from previous contests. Haven't heard this but have high hopes for another Rontvia banger <3
April 30, 201411 yr Author Kinda wish it stayed a ballad the entire way through (Candlelight Remix must be on the horizon) as the ballad is stunning! Talking of Candlelight remixes, it is very DJ Sammy. It is by far the most interesting part of the song (although I love the pure trance feel of the second half too). I checked out the extended mix to see if the ballad part was any longer but it wasn't, in fact the radio edit makes far more of an impact. INTERESTING as I was very close to sending Empire Of Hearts from that compilation, delving into my potentials from previous contests. Haven't heard this but have high hopes for another Rontvia banger <3 Empire Of Hearts  I think that would have done really well, it was top ten in my chart a few weeks ago, as was Phoenix by Eximinds. So much good stuff on that compilation.
