Timebomb doing better than expected for what believe will be one of Kylie more forgotten about singles in years to come as i feel it had no impact what so ever.

'Your Disco Needs You' - the single that never was (in the UK).

X would have been Kylie's best album had some of the bonus/unreleased tracks been added to the standard edition, replacing undeserving tracks like 'No More Rain', 'Heart Beat Rock' and 'Nu-di-ty'. I'm actually quite annoyed at how X ended up like!

Can't disagree with the rate thus far, bar Kids being so low. Would imagine it'd grab decent scores being such a Pop landmark.

2 Hearts is a nice song and all but it was the absolute worst choice for a lead single. Especially for 'X' as it didn't represent the overall sound of that record in any way. Much would've preferred her to release "Lose Control" instead. "Like a Drug" and "Speakerphone" was complete misses as they sounded like such good singles.

My 'X' you ask?

1. Speakerphone [1st Single]

2. Like A Drug [2nd Single]

3. Magnetic Electric

4. Lose Control [4th Single]

5. Spell of Desire

6. Taprobane

7. Sensitized

8. Nu-di-ty

9. Heart Beat Rock

10. In My Arms [3rd Single]

11. The One - Freemasons Radio Mix [5th Single]

12. Cherry Bomb

13. Do It Again

BONUS TRACKS:

14. Wow

15. Rippin' Up the Disco

16. Carried Away

-_-

That tracklist would have been near enough perfect, cutting out the dead wood and making it a more killer, cohesive track list.

('Fall For You' could find a place instead of 'Heart Beat Rock' maybe, and 'Wow' is an essential single so I'd put 'Taprobane' as the bonus track).

Some of the songs left off should have made the final cut instead of tracks like nu-di-ty and speakerphone and i agree a more cohesive sounding album would have resulted. X was probably her most wasted opportunity. Had the right singles been selected especially the lead single i do believe X had the potential to have sold double the amount it sold.

Speakerphone should stay, it's a great track, and made for an excellent opening sequence for the X2008 tour. :kink:

I'd pretty much agree with everything else, though.

Yeah, 'Speakerphone' is good enough to stay, although if the unreleased tracks had replaced the bad ones, it would probably be my least favourite on the album.

Very surprisingly, this didn't manage to pick up any 11's at all, but did however get three 10's. It did also get a zero from, erm... That rate that shall not be named (until the time comes when the culprits shall be OUTED.) Probably one of her best of the 00's and 10's, and the video is absolutely fab. :kink: What on earth is it doing missing the top 10, though? :drama:

I like "Heart Beat Rock" and "Nu-di-ty". I think they work nicely as the most quirky numbers on the album and they compliment each other nicely. (

.) I just think they were misplaced on the album as they were put next to totally different songs and that created some resistance towards their sound.

I don't really find "Fall For You" anything special, but I can see it would also be a good addition. "Taprobane" is one of her superior downtempos and would've been perfect for this album in place of the other weaker ballads, especially considering how personal it is (not that that helped Cosmic and Stars much...).

I still fail to see why "WoW" is an essential single. It's yet another ditzy and camp Kylie track (don't get me started on 'Aphrodite'...) with no memorable moments apart for the part Chris Moyles chose to mock as "Chihuahua". Outside of the UK everyone was dancing along to Calvin's hyper-produced "In My Arms".

Speakerphone? That was THE track on everyone's lips when the album came out. It was such a grand track for the time and it's still baffling how they didn't went with it has a lead single considering it was somewhat of a groundbreaking sound (yes, this was before Lady Gaga came out with her partying hymns).

Speakerphone should stay, it's a great track, and made for an excellent opening sequence for the X2008 tour. :kink:

As it should've been for the album campaign!

Speakerphone is basically my favourite Kylie song these days, totally deserved to be on X. Perhaps as a single it might have been a step too far though.

I still think they should've taken the risk. Maybe hold off the album for after single 2, but it still sounds to me as a track that could've left its mark on the Pop landscape.

I think Nu-Di-Ty would have worked better on the album had it been placed either before or after Sensitised (because it worked perfectly on the X2008 tour that way). It just sounds out of place being wedged between Wow and Cosmic, which are of course very different to it. I think there are a couple on the album, as has been said, that don't really represent the overall sound.
TBH, we shoulda had an ARS version of Nu-Di-Ty :smoke:

'Spinning Around' and 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' missing the Top 10 is very strange, especially when 'Slow' and 'Red Blooded Woman' are yet to come.

11 // In My Arms

Just missing the top 10 is In My Arms, probably one of the best from X, and definitely a good single choice! It did, however, only manage to pick up two 10's as its highest scores, and no 11's, but it did however not receive a score below 4 (there was only one of them, and the rest were quite high scores, ranging from 7 to 9.5).
IMA is one of the worst Kylie singles ever. URGH.
People seem to be very split on 'In My Arms' - some love it and others detest it, so it's quite impressive for it to be as high as #11. I personally love it like all the singles from X.

Just edging into the top 10 is the amazing Come Into My World - and very excellently performed on the Showgirl tour, sitting on that crescent moon. :kink: It did manage to get one 11, and it got one 10. It did not receive a score lower than 5 (there was one of those), and everything else ranged from 7 to 9.5.
