I've just read on ATRL forums that an executive at Epic Records has confirmed that a new Cher Lloyd single will be released this summer and apparently Cher herself said that she is hoping to release it next month! :cheer:

 

Hopefully something as good and summery as 'Oath' was!

Buzzing! I know she's been working hard on a project with Ne-Yo but I think that's something separate. Looking forward to this! I loved S+S but I am hoping for something slightly more urban. But I'm sure I'll be just as happy with the pop side as mucch as I would be with the more urban side.

I want more songs like Turn My Swag On and With Ur Love.

I just do not get her career.

 

She (and the producers of XF) tried to make a very clear statement during her time on X Factor that she is an Urban singer/rapper. Yet now she's been dragged down this Tween Pop Bopper route where she has this bratty rebel image. Were Cher and the producers just being pretentious with the "Urban" tag in 2010 or has she literally just sold out to get mainstream success?

I too am confused. As she has exhibited little R&B swagger since her initial audition and has turned into Avril Lavigne.

I hope 'Oath' is on this album. It was apparently to get re-released on Sticks and Stones here in the UK but never happened :( it is the only song I like by her.

 

I agree with what was said above about the image. The thing is Simon Cowell likes the whole 'Bratty British Teen Pop Sensation' image as it will appeal to girls in the US. British artists are becoming too American for my liking.

I'm looking forward to this, I like her image, I think it suits her and some of her songs are quite urban

Personally I'd absolutely love for her to go in the direction of her more "urban" tracks ('Dub on the Track', 'Talkin' That' etc) but there's no doubt that from a commercial point of view it'd be a disastrous move. Not that there's much of any potential for Cher to be big in the UK again anyway.

Tbh I'll never take her seriously as an artist. This current direction just seems to be for commercial reasons and clearly she has no drive to record the music she apparently loves.

Don't know if this is her 1st worldwide single or just USA, Seems like WW but we will see. Apparently its out "soon" aswell so hopefully get first radio play in few weeks.

EEEEEE! Very exciting! I do love a bit of T.I. too, so I'm looking forward to hearing what he has to offer.

Hopefully it has a similar sort of sound to Want U Back (her best piece of work :wub:), and she doesn't try and attempt Swagger Jagger pt. II and flop.

Good that she has got T.I. on it, her first album wasn't my fave tbh but I'm interested to see what she can come up with next.

Didn't she say only a week ago that her new album didn't have a single collob?! haha...

i think this album is gonna be so different to her debut, which was very bratty and sepf indulgent! im excited!

I can't see this being anything other than proper R&B. I can't think of a single pop song T.I. has featured on. He's like Jay Z in that sense.
