brazil.karl It’s so good to be back on tour playing @jamesblunt greatest hits. I can honestly say the break we’ve all had has only made me appreciate what I do and who I share the stage with even more. It’s been a brilliant tour so far. Looking forward to seeing you all. KB x

I was just chuckling away at JB's latest tweet -he is so funny on Twitter :D
Is James Blunt then really touring? And how many people in the audiences are allowed?

He is touring all over Europe again Elisabeth including the UK , the venues are not huge do I doubt restrictions apply . We had a big rugby match here last weekend with full capacity allowed in the stadium so I think restrictions have been lifted in a lot of countries . I think the biggest problem for big artists at the moment is trying to get staff as a lot of people during covid wo would normally have toured with musicians etc got jobs elsewhere , who can blame them as they were out of works for so long .

The thing is seated -you're not that close together -but I wouldn't fancy being in the pit even now with all the vaccinations/boosters we've had.

I agree Laura , I guess the days of couches on stage up close & personal are over , not a bad thing imo ( memories of that ITV Xmas show still fill me with dread )

Robbie Williams items auctioned for Stoke-on-Trent hospice

Jan Williams said her superstar son was "very, very happy" to see items be auctioned. Signed and framed gold albums awards are among items belonging to singer songwriter Robbie Williams being auctioned to raise funds for a hospice. The awards, for albums such as Sing When Your Winning, will be sold off alongside other items such as artworks and shoes. The appeal, which runs until Sunday, is to create a sensory room for young adults at Stoke-on-Trent's Dougie Mac. The singer's mother, Jan Williams, said Williams was happy for them to be sold. She stated: "He was very, very happy actually to see them go, as long as they were going for what is happening... this week."

Items up for auction include a signed and framed gold award for the single Love Supreme and two pieces of artwork previously in Williams' home. Mrs Williams said: "[staff came] up with this and I think it's an excellent idea really because over the last couple of years we haven't had much chance to get any monies in, because of what's been going on with the Covid." Williams is due to return to his home town of Stoke-on-Trent for a Vale Park football stadium gig in June, and Mrs Williams said he was excited about it. "He's loves Stoke-on-Trent, he loves the Vale, he loves where he lived."

Not The Banksy's? :o

I doubt it, probably some doodle

Art from Robbie Williams’ personal collection on display ahead of sale

Banksy’s highly-recognisable Kissing Coppers is among the artworks up for auction.

Three Banksy pieces belonging to singer Robbie Williams have gone on display ahead of a sale next month at Sotheby’s, as part of a series of modern and contemporary art auctions. Works by Rene Magritte, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and David Hockney will also go under the hammer in various sales alongside the artwork from the Angels star’s personal collection. Three of Banksy’s most recognisable works, with a combined estimated value of £7 million to £10 million, will be on sale as part of the Now Evening auction in March. The pieces include Kissing Coppers, which was originally unveiled as a mural on the streets of Brighton. The famous image first emerged on the exterior of The Prince Albert Pub in the East Sussex seaside town in 2004. Williams’ version of Kissing Coppers was made by Banksy in 2005 and its sale will mark the first time a Kissing Coppers on canvas has been offered on the secondary market. The selection also includes a version of Girl With Balloon depicted on metal, with an estimated value of £2 million to £3 million, the first of its kind to appear at auction. The third Banksy being sold by 48-year-old Williams is Vandalised Oils (Choppers), which depicts two helicopters disrupting a pastoral scene from the artist’s Vandalised Oils series, and is estimated to fetch £2.5 million to £3.5 million.

As part of the Modern and Contemporary Evening Auction taking place on the same day, Magritte’s L’Empire des Lumieres is estimated to sell for more than £45 million. The work was created in 1961 for Magritte’s close friend Baroness Anne-Marie Gillion Crowet, the daughter of Magritte’s patron, Belgian Surrealist collector Pierre Crowet, and has remained in the family ever since. Alongside it will be Monet’s Nympheas, painted between 1914 and 1917, and Picasso’s Buste de Femme Accoudee, painted in 1938 to chart the artist’s evolving relationship with his muse, Marie-Therese Walter, and the increasingly dominant presence of his new lover, Dora Maar. Hockney’s Garrowby Hill, 2017, will also be among the lots. It depicts the British countryside combined with the bright colours of Los Angeles, California, where Hockney had been living for many years shortly before he painted the artwork.

The auctions will take place at Sotheby’s in London on March 2 2022 – with the Now Evening auction at 4pm and the Modern and Contemporary Evening Auction at 5pm.
