Thanks Syd, I know that you cannot compare Ed with Rob as they are different style of singers, but what would be the difference between his show and the one of Rob (in his prime)?

I think they are both equally good in their own way, even Robbie post prime if that is what you want to call it is as good imo as he ever was. Rob has the disadvantage of age & it's hard going on a stage if you have anything wrong with you ( arthritis amongst other health issues ) . . Robbie has that constant connection with his audience & looking at Ed last night I can see how hard they have to work to keep the attention of the crowd. In last night's show there were surges of enthusiasm like you see at any concert & lulls every now & then where he might have been singer a quieter song but you have to look at the whole picture & as gigs go it was great. I only knew a few of his songs ( Bad Habits is a fantastic song live ) . Ed mentioned last night before the show that he had cut his finger on a wine bottle, now that is not good for a guy who is just starting out on quite a long tour but that's showbusiness for you , he just got on with it.

I have to say that I love Rob as a performer, he draws you in but at the end of the day it's whatever you fancy, they all have their day in the limelight. I am just glad Rob & his kind are still doing it :music:

My favourite live song by Rob to this day is Me & My Monkey performance from Knebworth, it's a song he does not sing too often live, maybe it's just too long but I always look at the storytelling in that song & how he draws in the audience, you can almost feel yourself travelling along with that monkey  I think the song is amazing :)

Glad you had a good time.

Like Alex said -it's so lovely to see a big crowd at a gig -gives me a little tingle. ^_^

Oh yes -he can draw you in to a story do doubt about it.

At Robbie gigs on the rare occasions when he is being serious and has something to say and fires the crowd up - I always maintain he could inspire the bloody world.

You can remember that I love Paolo Nutini's music.

Still think he's one of the best artists from UK nowadays. He has his own style, he does the music by himself, he is influenced by Sam Cooke, Jumi Hendrix, Ottis Redding and he is very simple guy.

Very very vey sad he releases music SO rarely!

Last album was published 8 (!) years ago!

But finally he's ready for the Album #4 on July 1st!

New songs are great too.

If this song is very similar to his #2 Album then second song is a new sound for him and more U2 from Zooropa period. Wow. LOSE IT! LOSE IT for a liitle while! LOSE IT!

‘Last Night In The Bittersweet’ will only extend that phenomenal success. It’s a 70-minute epic that spans the distance from classic rock to post-punk to hypnotic Krautrock, in the process proving its value as his deepest, most varied, most accomplished, and ultimately most rewarding set so far. The insistent Motorik rhythms of new single ‘Lose It’ brings shades of early ‘70s German bands like Can and Neu!, and are a product of Paolo writing increasingly on bass guitar. At the other end of the spectrum, ‘Through The Echoes’ is a timeless classic in the lineage of Ben E. King and Otis Redding, with Nutini’s vocal delivery reminding us why he got snapped up by Atlantic in the first place.

‘Last Night In The Bittersweet’ was produced by Paolo Nutini alongside Dani Castelar and Gavin Fitzjohn. It was written by Paolo, with some select co-write contributions from members of his live band.

Btw, he will be a guest artist in Knebworth for Liam. Jealousy!

Yes, I have not heard anything about him in ages, great he has done another album. That's quite a good lineup for the LG gig , I Love Kasabian

Yes.

I like the fact that Robbie's concert at Vale Park is on the same day like Liam's - even here we feel their competition

I wonder if Rob will mention it at the Vale gig

I also hope that U2 will tour again, I will definitely go & see them next time they do . Must still be hard to organise big tours at the moment given covid is still lurking in the background . It was a great feeling getting back to gigs again last week with Ed Sheeran, makes you realise what you missed. I promised never to complain again but it's hard to break old habits  :teresa:

He will mention for sure

Something like this: 'Do you know what... One person from a popular band in 90s *Blur* called Liam played the concert at Knebworth Park right now. Can you believe in it? And can you believe that did it yesterday too? He did it twice! Booo! But do you know what... Another person from another popular band in 90s called Robbie did it triple! Come on you Know!!

Haha -you know him too well Alex

BTW -I love Bruno Mars too -every song of his is great.

He has such soul B-)

Agree with you both, Bruno is the man.

Would be fantastic to get their duet at one point.

I still think that at least a 'Duet' project is possible for Robbie in future.

I have two tickets at RHCP concert this June in Amsterdam.

But unfortunately can't go there.

Liz, do you want to go? :)

He will mention for sure

Knebworth was one of those special moments in time for Rob , not to be repeated . till gives me tingles to watch on video ..

My last post of this topic by the moment :)

His passion is fantastic. He is just sitting and play the guitar here but his voice does everything.

I am not too familiar with his stuff if I am honest, nice song though :) . The only song I remember hearing that caught my attention was called Jenny Dont' Be Hasty but that was a long time ago
