Battlestar Gallactica is incredible. Pretty much the only series of its kind i've seen all the way through because of how expansive and accessible it manages to be.

Some killer characters too <3

I guess the top 5/10 will include: The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, The Good Wife, Will & Grace.

50th - 8 Out Of 10 Cats - 182pts (even more votes) (:ne:)

One of my favourite panel shows kicks off the top 50. Jimmy Carr and Jon Richardson are always hilarious and I always end up having a good laugh when I watch this. I'm quite surprised it got as high as it did, but in a way I'm glad this is as high as it got - there are so many amazing shows lower down the list.

49th - Gavin & Stacey - 187pts ( 8)

Well I don't have much good to say about this one - I just do not find it funny at all and it was one of the main contenders for my -1 (the show that got that is, however, still to come...). I guess I can cope with a 49th place but it should have been much lower.

48th - Being Human - 191pts ( 10)

This was an interesting enough concept - a show with a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost living together. But there are lots of vampire programmes around at the moment (like the amazing Vampire Diaries) and unfortunately there's nothing about this one that makes it stand apart for me.

47th - Revenge - 192pts ( 30)

This is a show that I've known about for ages but I've never bothered to find anything more about it. The premise sounds reasonable and the first series pulled in great viewing figures for ABC however it appears to have run out of steam a little in its second and third series.

Breaking Bad doesn't feature in this countdown? I didn't even notice that, haha!

Being Human was excellent for the first few seasons, lost interest after they got rid of Mitchell & George.

REVENGE *.*

Now THAT is a show that knows how to write for a QoL and heap on the melodrama

46th - The Good Wife - 196pts ( 9)

What more needs to be said other than this is, without doubt, THE GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME. Buzzjack, you fools.

What began as another cookie cutter CBS courtroom procedural quickly flourished into one of the most surprising, funny, well acted, written and directed shows on ALL TV. The writers have such a feel for the characters that they feel like real people and as such the situations and ensuing emotions they experience are all the more real and intoxicating. That's before we get to the fact the show writes for female characters in such an amazing way it should be held up as the prime of example for all other network (and cable) writers. They also have the single greatest guest cast ever assembled: Rita Wilson, Michael J Fox, Jeffrey Tambor, Bebe Neuwirth, Ana Gasteyer, F Murray Abraham and the list goes on and on. It's also one of the funniest shows on TV, despite not even being a comedy. Super talented quintuple threat. Or something.

Now in it's fifth (and perhaps LAST) season the show has hit ever higher heights. Season 5 episode 5 was rightly held up as one of the very best episode of TV in 2013 and personally I would say one of the best episodes of TV ever made. It was so expertly handled, a simmering pot over the prior 4 episodes everything came to a head and yet felt true to the show and the characters. Yes it was melodramatic (complete with STRINGS), but then the show has always adopted the melodrama. It's the way it uses it, sparingly, and in the right places, that lifts it to such lofty levels of greatness.

Oh and

45th - Lost - 199pts ( 25)

I'd say this is one of the more polarising entries on this list. There are some who would say it's one of the greatest TV shows of all time, but then there are others who would say that it tried (and failed) to juggle too many plot points. I probably fall into the latter camp, but I have to say that it certainly was an innovative and creative show and well deserving of its place here.

44th - Peep Show - 202pts ( 65)

Crossing the 200 points barrier we have Peep Show. This shows stars comedic geniuses David Mitchell & Robert Webb and is shot purely from a point of view mode. It is a little quirky but I really like it.

43rd - American Horror Story - 206pts (fewer votes) ( 30)

Anything with the word 'horror' in its title starts to set off alarm bells in my head. Well a quick YouTube of this assures me that it is weird, crazy and a little f***ed-up. Not my cup of tea.

42nd - Russell Howard's Good News - 206pts (more votes) (:ne:)

Well this is more like it. Yes it's rude, it's crude and it's not the most sophisticated comedy show in the world but it is funny as hell.

41st - The IT Crowd - 211pts (fewer votes) ( 12)

I'm quite surprised this geeky-sitcom is as high as this. Maybe I've missed something, but I never saw that much interest in this one.

3 perfect shows back to back (Lost, Revenge, The Good Wife) *.*

lol at Gavin & Stacey managing top 50. It is amazing though  That, Peep Show and The Good Wife <3

Now for Doctor Who to win B-)

TGW is sensational and far too low. (Don't bother with it Dan, it requires more intelligence than you have to give)

The IT Crowd is just brilliant, shame it couldn't quite make the top40. Just so on point and genuinely funny. The final episode was hysterical.

AHS above The Good Wife is a TRAVESTY. Though I am claiming MORAL VICTORY as it has only the best people on here as fans.

I'll give it a go Shitlas.
