January 21, 201213 yr It's not illogical thinking at all. My bandwagon point was in reference to female pop artists - Pitbull and Chris Brown are female pop artists? And my point was regarding not only 'the dj feat' aspect but a song with parts where it features more beat and production and less vocal than usual - like I said not a pop song sung fully over production. Rihanna's artist development has now resulted in other female artist jumping on her bandwagon, in the same vein the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Scherzinger, Keri Hilson jumping on the 'What's My Name' bandwagon. Perhaps you're thinking illogically? Your reading ability clearly manifests this. And your point regarding 'Collide' is incorrect. WFL and 'Collide' were released at the same time and WFL leaked before 'Collide'. And the loon accusations @ me are quite laughable when my point is 100% valid. I actually really like Alexandra Burke, Jessie J and Leona Lewis so it's not even a dig at them - merely a summary of the similarties between their music and Rihanna's music. Ok maybe not illogical? More biased it seems now. I doubt female pop artists thought "oh I can FINALLY add a producer credit to my song now that another female artist has done so". Maybe you have a point with the "full on dance production" argument. But only 'Elephant' has done this so far so it isn't like Rihanna has started a trend at all. I agree with the WMN bandwagon. 'Right There' and 'I'm Into You' were blatant rip-offs. The crediting of 'Collide' was because of a legal battle between Avicii and Leona - not because of Rihanna. And musically, 'Collide' is more Alexis Jordan-inspired with elements of 'Firework' rather than a rip-off of Rihanna. Oh, and my reading ability is perfectly fine.
January 21, 201213 yr I'm pretty sure I'm Into You was recorded before WMN? was released, so J-lo was hardly copying Rihanna.
January 21, 201213 yr Rihanna has started no trends tbh... She's in my top 5 artists ever, but she's hardly been innovative. She wasn't the first ever artist to credit a producer, I suppose she's copying Kelly Rowland then? And whoever did that before. And yeah, I think IIY was recorded before J-Lo even knew of WMN so them sounding alike is coincidental. Besides, these days no-one is truly really innovative.
January 21, 201213 yr And yeah, I think IIY was recorded before J-Lo even knew of WMN so them sounding alike is coincidental. Stargate produced both songs so not really a coincidence. But seriously, LOL at what this thread has become. Edited January 21, 201213 yr by Neil
January 21, 201213 yr Stargate produced both songs so not really a coincidence. But seriously, LOL at what this thread has become. Well I suppose coincidence is the wrong word. But if they have the same producer, of course they'll sound similar. Well this is Buzzjack after all :P
January 22, 201213 yr I'm pretty sure I'm Into You was recorded before WMN? was released, so J-lo was hardly copying Rihanna. Well it sounds like it. I'm sure J.Lo's label decided to release IIY after the success of WMN? Especially considering OTF was a huge electro-pop song like 'Only Girl (In the World)'. Obviously Rihanna isn't the first to release a huge electro-pop song as a lead single but you get my drift...

You make it seem like Rihanna is some trend setter when she isn't. J-Lo didn't copy Rihanna.
January 22, 201213 yr Rihanna actually was the first artist to release an electro-pop uptempo lead single, did you not hear she created music?
January 22, 201213 yr And your point regarding 'Collide' is incorrect. WFL and 'Collide' were released at the same time and WFL leaked before 'Collide'. Like what? A week before or something? So Leona recorded 'Collide' in that week because she heard Rihanna's WFL did she? Don't be so ridiculous, it was recorded and planned way before anyone heard WFL. Plus it was not even meant to be a Popstar ft DJ/Producer song. You are just talking absolute rubbish, and I think you know it.
January 22, 201213 yr Please can everyone stop arguing and go off and believe in what you want as even if you are wrong or right its not going to make alex not realse elephant.
January 22, 201213 yr Ugh I'm not going to even bother arguing with delusional Alex/Jessie J/Leona loons who obviously think they are God's gift to music and that they would never be inspired by Rihanna's music when Rihanna has unarguabley been one of the most iconic and influential pop stars of the last 6 years. #realitychequeplease Edited January 22, 201213 yr by » Marky

January 22, 201213 yr Well Rihanna DID create the entire concept of music, every genre and idea is her brainchild.
