Did they give you an explanation of what the Picasso pictures represented Tess (other than just the title).

I Like his art for the vibrancy and the shapes but I find it hard to "understand" modern art unless someone explains them. It's all quite obscure to me.

I hired a headset there for 4.50 which was worth it as it gave you a fairly good insight into the paintings & the subject matter ... even though a lot of his paintings are very abstract I found them easy to figure out , the subject matter was mainly reclining nudes ( of his mistress I believe ) but I thought the colours were beautiful, really vibrant , would I go *

I am going to have to take a trip to Cookham some day ( not sure where it is in the UK ) to see Stanley Spencer's paintings, I think his work is fabulous ...he had two daughters called Unity & Shirin ...what wonderful names :)

Yes - Lucy's Law. It's very good news. B-)

While we're talking dogs - our two Staffie's are both rescue dogs.

They've never been in contact with really young children but they have both been so excellent and loving with our baby granddaughter.

I've had her quite a bit this week at our house because I have a week off work and wanted to help and our boys have been brilliant with her.

Obviously I'm very vigilant with them as I would be with any dog and a baby and I would never leave her alone with them, but they have been curious, accepting and very loving with her. Staffie's are very loving dogs anyway. I knew that . I did wonder how they would react. Our twelve year old Jack just lays down at her feet nice and quietly. Doing his "job" of protecting. She was giggling at Brucie. ^_^

It is true Laura. My friend has a dog that she finds difficult to control but the fault lies with her & not the dog as she is always shouting at her when in fact if she left her alone & ignored her for a bit she would calm down , I often takes her for walks & she is like a different dog , it's all to do with relaxation , if you ever watch the Dog Whisperer he says the same thing every time , relaxation, no tension , calm atmosphere & no hands waving all over the place , gives the wrong signals to animals ;)

Young girl got a selfie with the Pope yesterday

Lots of moving tributes and eulogies during all of the memorial services/funeral for the late senator John McCain this past week, as he did pass on 25 August 2018, 4 days shy of his 82nd birthday....was really touching to see his 106 years young mother saying her goodbyes as he lay in state in the Capitol rotunda in Washington, DC.....
