I was watching the Ray Darcy show last night, they had Shane McGowan ( The Pogues ) on last night, he is in a wheelchair these days, his health is not good I guess due to all the drinking he has done over the years .

Shane was 60 years old on Christmas day , they had a tribute for him recently in the National Concert Hall in Dublin

I'm surprised Shane Mcgowan has reached 60 to be honest :)

Carrying the conversation over from Twitter Laura regarding the band Aslan & their lead singer Christy Dignam, did you hear him mention in the interview about people thinking he was dying , he has a rare form of cancer & still manages to go out & perform live , the night I went to see the band he ended up in hospital the day after

I wonder if Mr Bigwiglaf knows of Aslan, I would be surprised if he didn't

Oh my goodness. I did hear him say that but I thought he was joking. :o

Typical Dubliners sense of humour :P

Saw Darkest Hour tonight.

It was brilliant. Gary Oldman deserves his oscar nomination.

Glad to hear that Laura, I have seen trailers , it does look good . I always think how brave a man he was & also how all those people were who fought in the war , people nowadays do not realise how much they have to be greatful for

The film does give a good sense of the sense of fear around (understandably) but also of defiance.

I can't imagine what it must have been like going to bed at night wondering if you would be invaded the next day.

It does put all our present day worries into context.

Do you know the songwriters for these Robbie's songs:

Break America

Disco Delilah

French Action Hero

Ice Cream Headache (Demo)

In And Out Of Love

More To Life (feat. Mams Taylor)

Some Day (feat. Dy Lon)

?

Can only find references & links on Wiki Better Man

In & Out pf Love is mentioned but no credits

Disco Delilah is not one I have heard before but there is a YT video

Another one O have never heard of is Go Now ...it's a demo from 1995

Yeah, there is Go Now. He wrote it with Owen Morris and Chris Abbot.

I just have one interesting idea but I need to find exact info about lyrcis.

Anyway, I feel I will need your and Laura's support during this year.

I remember ice Cream Headache was a brilliant song on one of the Radio Rudeboxes. I think I got it on my iPod but haven't heard it for years.

Edit:

Que Tip (spelling? Cue Tip?) is that who he sang with? Did he co write it? I'm sure he introduces it saying "this is me and Que Tip doing good". Have I got that right?

Is French Action Hero a Connects Song Better Man ( ie: Robbies brother in law crew ) , so I'm guessing they wrote the song

Thanks Tess. :) I haven't heard that in ages. I always really liked the line "we can't all be puking rainbows"

And thinking about it- I bet it's Q Tip isn't it? Someone younger must know.

Anyway I love that song. B-) I'll ask on Upfront uf that could go on a future UTR. I don't suppose I'll get a reply though.
