Ashley Roberts joins Strictly

Ex Pussy cat Doll , she is a tra8ned dancer so I find the choice a bit weird but maybe she has never done ballroom

I like her though, she has great personality

Is Eamonn Holmes doing it I wonder, he would be hilarious , I doubt he has any rhythm at all :P

Love this one too :)

Love that

Two of my favourites there Laura, thanks for posting those.

:music:

Off to see Picasso at The Tate on Monday -_-

Nice! B-) I saw some real Picasso's at the Guggenheim in New York in July. They looked amazing. You enjoy Tess.

We're seeing Bat Out Of Hell tomorrow at the Dominion Tottenham Court Road. :cheer:

Spent a fair amount of time on catching up on housework, going back to work for a rest in a couple of days... :P

With clocking out from work Thursday night at 9:45 p.m., I began just over 2 weeks of vacation....was supposed to spend a lot of it with my girlfriend, but that's not happening...am still going out of town for several days, the rest of the time off will be either catching up on a bunch of continuing education for my license and certification as a pharmacy technician here in the US, or helping mum with some stuff around the house she'd like to get done...will be going back to work on 3 September....

Did you enjoy the Guggenheim Laura , I have only seen it on tv , what did you think of the building itself.

Have you ever seen the buildings designed by Frank Gehry, they are stunning https://www.architecturaldigest.com/gallery...gehry-slideshow

saw a documentary about him a few years ago, really fascinating

I am looking forward to seeing the Picasso exhibition, only seen one of his paintings before

I have been to the Dominion Theatre ,a lot of paint on those walls

The Guggenheim was amazing Tess - beautiful building. $25 to get in though. It's a quarter of a mile upward spiral ramp to get from the bottom to the top. It's very beautiful, sleek, elegant with simple lines.

I'm glad I went. The paintings were secondary to the building itself really.

I'd not heard of Frank Gehry before I read your post but looking at the photos I LOVE his buildings and realised that I did notice and love the Beekman Tower in New York this summer B-) and also The Serpentine Gallery. I have noticed that building on previous London visits.

As I've gotten older, I've become far more interested in modern architecture. Maybe it's an age thing.

Hope you enjoy the Picasso's.

Another beautiful building. B-) Recently renovated.

Good show - I love the album so the songs were a given. Not sure I'm a fan of sticking an unrelated story around an existing album but it was lovely to hear the album come to life. Some brilliant singers in the cast and musicians.

The theatre had a lot of empty seats for the matinee though. :o Maybe because it's summer holiday season. In the interval we moved forward six rows where they were all empty.

That is not expensive Laura, it's not something that you will probably do again & well worth seeing those buildings & as you say sometimes better than the exhibitions they hold . I have been to the Serpentine Gallery, went there to see the Grayson Perry exhibition which was wonderful . I love architecture , always have done, I live in a Georgian city so appreciate nice buildings that I pass every day , I never tire of looking at them .

Here is a video on FG, https://youtu.be/cmTORzq98Ik I think it is the one that I saw on the BBC , I wonder what will happen when he passes away , his gift as an architect will die with him .

I am ,looking forward to the Picasso exhibition, I hope it worth it ... I am also on the look out for paintings by Stanley Spencer , love his work

That is not expensive Laura,

No I guess not - it's just I'm used to art galleries being free in London and I had an expectation that the Guggenheim would be the same. A bit naïve I suppose.

It was absolutely worth it though - a lovely memory.

Very....glad she was found alive after all that time in the water....

May not have a chance to check in round these parts, as I'm heading out of town for several days...off on a nice long drive to see friends of mine up north here in the US, leaving Wednesday, and will be back here in my corner of Florida Tuesday next week...

Enjoy your few days Mr B, you could do with the break with everything that has been happening ...

I really enjoyed the Picasso Exhibition yesterday , amazing to see those painting up close & I was surprised at how close you could get , the colours were very vibrant , the storyline a bit Freudian , enjoyed it though, also got to see a photographic which was excellent .. it was rather warm in London yesterday , a bit heavy for walking around the shops, my flight back last night was an hour and a half late ( Ryanair  , but at least they turned up ) so I was exhausted by the time I got home .

Enjoy your break Biggy.

Exhausted Tess? Back to work for a rest like I did the other day... :P

Did they give you an explanation of what the Picasso pictures represented Tess (other than just the title).

I Like his art for the vibrancy and the shapes but I find it hard to "understand" modern art unless someone explains them. It's all quite obscure to me.
