My holiday wish list is all UK based.

As for that bridge, not for me thanks. Both my dad and I aren't good with heights. *shudders*

I was watching some of the Passchendaele rememberance cermonies last night on tv, what horrors those brave soldiers had to face , we should never forget them or what they sacrificed

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jul/...-of-remembrance

So were we Tess. I wonder what those soldiers would have thought that in a 100 years we were still trying to fathom out, why they had to leave their loved ones and go through that. Can't even imagine what they had to go through let alone work out why.

Go figure, I'm terrible with heights meself, but flying is not an issue for me....

Grandmaster Flatty and his church visitations.....

It seems they had no idea what they were heading to , a lot of them were very young . I do not know if you watched the BBC 2 documentary about Afganasthan a couple of years back & the young lads that were either very badly injured or killed & that is only in recent times , it never ends ...

It does feel at the minute that there is so much discord in the world that some kind of confrontation is going to happen somewhere. Either between US and Russia or US and China or North Korea and US. It almost feels inevitable.

When you look at the calibre of "leader" in all those countries. It's woeful. They're full of ego and nothing else.

Laura, are you watching the athletics tonight Laura, great win by Mo Farah , what an athlete :w00t:

He is a very talented athlete , even when he stumbles & just keeps on going

Looking forward to to the 5000 mtrs , will be interesting to see what happens

Sad to see no other Europeans these days in the long distance races . Mo was born in Somalia , so is it in the genes that Africans do so well

The European women seem to fare better in the long distance events

Can you believe there is massive heatwaves in Southern Europe & it's cold & continuously raining where I am

In Sicily the government have warned people to stay indoors during the day because of the danger to health

Michael Johnson had said that he felt Usain might be beaten & he was right, what an athlete, I loved the man . Michael was also brilliant in his day , I was really sad when he retired after Sydney. I am sure I have told you guys many times that I had the please of being at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, it was also a dream of mine & I got there B-)

If you want 10 months of temps at 30+ C, and humidity in the 85-100% range, move to where I live, Florida.....

I am not asking for glorious sunshine all the time but sure as hell we could do with a couple of weeks of it in our so called summer

No wonder Jonny Cash wrote this song, where did he think we got the forty shades of green. all that rain :P
