I hope Mo will be ok for tomorrow night

Less than 12 hours had passed since Farah made history in the most impressive fashion with yet another world 10,000m triumph to extend his run of successive global distance titles to 10. But his tardiness was not a case of basking in the glory of what many have called his greatest success.

No, Farah was instead waylaid by a trip to the British team doctor to see if he would be fit to defend his 5,000m title next week after a bruising encounter had left him requiring stitches in his left shin. The good news is that the answer was yes.

“It was quite a late one last night as I had to go through the whole system of doctors, a scan and got a few stitches,” he said. “But it’s all good. It’s nothing that concerned me and I’ve got enough days to recover, rest up, to be ready.

“It’s just three little stitches so I’m not worried about that. I got spiked somewhere in the race, but it’s fine, it happens. I’m more worried about the knee, which is slightly banged up when I nearly tripped at the bell and I happened to catch my other knee. It’s just a bruise and puffed up.”

Some athletes have food poisoning as well , that's a shame :( , wonder if there is any connection to the bad eggs recently imported into the UK

So sorry to hear this. :( he had a voice like honey and a brilliant guitarist. So many beautiful songs to remember him by.

Rest in Peace.

That is a wonderful song

I think Glen Campbell has one of the all time great voices. Full of warmth. Talented musician too.

Lived life to the full. B-)

Thank you for the music.

Glen Campbell will be missed by many, to be sure...

He played with The Beach Boys and Elvis Presley, to mention a couple...and I do recall his television show from the early to mid 1970's....

Requiescat in pace, Glen Campbell....

I thought the Mo looked tired last night at the end of the 5000 mtrs, I hoe the rest does him good before the final

What an odd carry on with the Botswana athlete having to run a time trial on his own to qualify for the final of the 200 mtrs

The IAAF are making a bit of a dogs dinner of these championships :(

I hope they all calm down over this Nth Korea thing , let's hope it;s all huffing & puffing :o

Had no idea about Glen Campbell until now. R.I.P. Glen.

Rhinestone Cowboy.

If it didn't involve millions of innocent lives - it would be comical - these grown men and their over sized egos. Goading each other on with their rhetoric.

I just find Donald Trump utterly pathetic now.

Hoping for the day they manage to impeach him and oust him and his family out the White House for good. Complete waste of space.

The problem is that Trump is very good at this social media thing, it started on the run up to the presidential election & has continued since. No other world leaders are using social media in the way that he does which means their voices are not heard , the media follow Trump because he is so unpredictable but that in turn makes him dangerous because he & that other lunatic are the only voices that are heard. I cannot understand why other countries are not out there having their say.

Possibly because they have more "class" Tess?

I use Twitter everyday. I love it. But I use it to comment on the weather, the news, my garden, music. You don't use it to comment on whether you're going to drop Fire power on millions of innocent people in North Korea.

Trump is like a boasting child in a playground. The ego he displays is the same as Kim Jung Un (hope I spelt that right) he/ they don't understand the lessons of history that he should be listening to and taking heed of. I don't think he's intellectually capable of it to be honest.

Since he first came to prominence I knew he wasn't a figure of fun but a very, very dangerous man. They need to find a way to remove him and also listen to those who voted him in and help them with policies so that characters like him aren't needed in politics.

He is a reaction to people feeling alienated by mainstream politics and if their issues are addressed the likes of him wouldn't be needed.

I'm hoping he will just become a tiny footnote in history. A lesson learnt for future politicians to learn from.

Tess I'm back home and we've got nice sunshine here. :) hope some is shining your way? :)
^ Hope you had a nice time away Laura. ^_^

We did thank you - it was lovely. :)

It's sunny today for the first time in yonks , cannot say how long it will last but I could do with some heat in my bones

I see Ant McPartlin is out of rehab, I hope he makes a full recovery , seems like he was having a very bad time & lucky to have got himself sorted before it was too late, you never know what is going on behind that big smile on a persons face , I wish him all the best
