Very, very strong semi and a few I know in Semi 2 are equally as strong so set for a mammith contest I feel.

Shame because the original version of 'Damaged' is so so much better than the Antillas version that Thermo sent.

A 'For the record' post:

We did ask Griff to replace his entry earlier today. We did not veto the entry from Euphoriffith. It was judged that it was not significantly different from the cover version that was entered last year (after all the BJSC XLII entry was just a lazy cover of the original) so we ruled that the entry broke the rule relating to cover versions and thus would have to be replaced prior to the contest beginning.

I think what happened is Griff tried to send Plummet "Damaged (Antillas Remix)" and not Antillas feat. Fiora "Damaged". They are not the same thing despite Antillas being associated with both/both songs being called Damaged and having the same lyrics. So assuming I'm right Griff did not try to send the same version that I sent.

My 12 has absolutely no hope in hell of getting through but fantastic discovery. Extremely strong top 6 again like semi 1 last time. The entire semi was a lot better than I expected with only 3 or 4 complete duds in there, I'm expecting semi 1 to be better anyway though so this is looking like a very strong contest! Voted for one country in particular who I NEVER thought I'd vote so highly.

 

I am highly worried for Land of Ostriches' chances of qualifying now though oops. I'm blaming Adam for that though because I was totally confident before his shady prediction.

Unfortunately we tried to use the MP3 you sent but the website was not working last night and therefore we couldn't use it. :( Hopefully the MP3 that has been included isn't too much worse.

Phlox I'm afraid your site didn't work, I just converted it from the YouTube link you provided, it should be in the same quality as the site I use converts it to the highest possible quality for the video. Sorry it's not what you desired. :(

About to vote. The semi is really poor overall, although there are a couple of countries getting my top two points that would otherwise get very low points from me/no points at all in any other contest. Both of the songs are just fabulous. :wub: Not really sure how my entry's going to fare either, this seems to be the indie-er semi of the two, with only a couple of pop countries... :( #Justice4Madison #please

voted. semi 1 had a number of songs deserving of some of the lower points but just missed out. Apart from those already mentioned ("hyped") some of those worth mentioning as contenders strike me as B.a.N.G. and Aeroche - there are other really good ones too, but in terms of contenders....?

I obviously love love Jolene but I don't know how 2 award points to it bc it just feels so obvious? (I know this may sound hypocritical coming from me but I consider Creep a far more underrated classic. Jolene is probably the first song you think of when you think of Dolly whereas I'd say No Scrubs or Waterfalls would be for TLC - plus Jolene is considered one of the best country songs of all time) - I can see it doing really well tho. and I'll probably end up giving it big marks (;
