Persephonian News Bulletin: 12/03/2014

 

EMERGENCY: acid rain sweeps Persephonia

 

Acid rain has started to pour in Persephonia, leading to severe pollution of the River Haze. No human casualties have been reported but one Persephonian farmer has found the liquified remains of an ostrich who fell victim to the downpour.

 

Persephonian meteorologists blame the catastrophe on air pollution in Altyr Muunilinst, pointing out heavy easterly winds from the country.

 

This news report has nothing to do with our upcoming BJSC entry.

First human casualty of acid rain

 

A human death has been reported from the recent acid rain downpour. Ben Khan, who was resident in Persephonia preparing to be our next entry to BJSC, was sadly dissolved earlier today. This means he will no longer be representing Persephonia in BJSC LXIII and also will not be allowed to represent anyone else in the future cos he's OURS. (His sudden death seems to explain his slowness in releasing a follow-up to his Persephonian top 10 single 'Savage').

 

 

With Mr. Khan removed, the acid rain has had its thirst quenched and has abruptly stopped pouring down on our country. Our replacement entry is mostly instrumental so we can't think of a tenuous lyrical link to write about in this bulletin. We should have thought that through better.

Persephonian News Bulletin ~ 22/03/2014

 

Surkin represents Persephonia for LXIII

 

Following a relatively last minute change from Ben Khan's 'Savage', Persephonia are now being represented in BJSC LXIII by 'Oedo 606', a track from the 2013 'Advanced Entertainment System' EP by French house DJ Surkin. Surkin is the first French artist to represent Persephonia in the contest.

 

As usual with Persephonia's entries of late, the song is greatly enhanced by the music video which is inspired by the 1977 short film 'Powers of Ten'. Please listen and watch below if you wish.

 

 

The video sadly only exists for a shorter edit of the song than that originally found on the EP. This slightly lengthier version will be found in the official mp3 packs.

 

Ben Khan to release new EP

 

Mere hours after the last bulletin update proclaimed the death of Ben Khan, he returned and put out a new song, to be featured on his upcoming debut EP '1992'. We apologise for the mixup - it was not the musician Ben Khan that died but rather an unrelated Persephonian citizen of the same name.
