At this point I think it’s a conscious choice from R1 not to play One More Sleep this year (outside the chart) which is a shame. Hopefully they change their minds next year.

I never thought for a minute they would be supporting Leona in the future. The only reason I hoped for play of OMS is because its an established hit that they have supported.

Holding strong at #36 today. Should still be top 40 come tomorrow which is great! Only 356 copies clear from #40 position. Will also clear 300K this week, as of last week it was on 296,714 sales.

BBC radio 2 have picked up their spins of the song at least and Heart FM have given a couple plays so far. It's annoying to see Kelly & Ariana get a few pays of their songs on BBC Radio 1 outside the chart show and Leona get none. :/

 

Glad OMS was added to another advertised playlist, even if it's low on it.

It’s funny that the year the radios decided not to show any support is the year this has smashed the charts again. Still find it odd that Heart hasn’t even played it once. If I remember correctly they played it loads on its second year in 2014, not at all until the 23rd in 2015 and then quite a bit in 2016 again.

 

Why do radio ignore it? I'm guessing to keep Cowell happy. They were ALL OVER IT whe she was on is label, calling it the new classic, and even ignoring that Darkness is the biggest modern classic.

 

Love that it got top40 again! I hear it in Tesco's a lot tbh, so it does get supermarket plays. Did it get put on any playlists?

 

I made sure Leona was the first Christmas album I listened to again - this year Winter Wonderland when it was snowing ... I then lost me headphones in the snow and had to play it when no one was aboot <_< :arrr:

That's good about 23k per week sold...should finish this year around 350k...gold next year then!
