Not sure if you've all heard to, but Channing Tatum has signed on to be Gambit in the future X-Men universe.

I heard this as well, also there maybe a Gambit movie first. This set of X Men movies is going to continue after the third movie, I think they are planning 5 to 6 movies.

Yeah expect he'll be a big part of the third film that's coming out in a couple of years, then they will have his own spin-off film, cos obviously he's a big enough actor to be able to carry his own standalone film.

You will LOVE it. This one seems a bit more sci-fi than the previous ones, without it straying too far away from the ott reality that we get with superhero films! I do personally prefer 'Captain America 2' in regards to superhero films of this year so far, but this is a comfortable second! (Although tbf it only has 'Amazing Spiderman' to contend with so far and that was pants!)

I just think they got everything perfect. It was really nice seeing the older cast members join with the first class cast members! Evan Peters was great as Quicksilver and really had the cheeky chap thing going on! I just wish we saw a bit more of him than we do.

But yeah so SO good.

OOh yay!! Being the only other person on here who GETS the truly amazing SHIELD I trust you on this. More sci-fi is absolutely a good thing for me though and everything I've seen and read suggests that it will be absolutely incredible.

Hopefully going to see this over the weekend when the initial crowds have died down a bit. Watched First Class on Sunday to get myself ready as I completely forgot it existed.

Still haven't seen either of the Wolverine films but I don't think I'm missing out on anything storywise...am I?

Not so much, no. But I know it isn't exactly a favourite with the critics, I enjoyed the Wolverine movies (the first moreso). You should watch the first one just to get the idea of Wolverine as they reference some important bits that happen in that film (I havent read the comics or anything so I cant say how close they are to the comics). But you dont have to worry too much as I'm sure it'll make sense once you see it.

Edit: Oh and Evan Peters has been linked to the 3rd movie! :D Glad to see he'll be back!

GURL don't even get me started on that subject  SO MUCH WRONG with the films.

Cannot wait to see this one I'm a big fan of X-Men and this one looks the best although I wasn't mad on the second one though but loved all the others and this is how I rank them

01. X-Men - First Class

02. X-Men - The Last Stand

03. X-Men

04. X-Men 2

for me. ZERO interest in ever watching The Wolverine films.

The Last Stand gets alot of hate :( sure it has alot of faults, but I have grown to appreciate how they tackled Jean Grey and her connection to the Phoenix. I guess

they couldn't introduce the adventures into space and the Shi'ar in one movie

Wow... excellent... wow, non stop action right from the start it was nice seeing the old gang there. There are certain elements within the film that relates to the Last Stand. For some reason I still prefer First Class, I guess the reason behind that was to establish the new crew. I still enjoyed it the drawback for me was I knew what was going to happen, as the film is based on a comic book which I read.
7/10. Few criticisms but overall a good watch! (don't want to spoil it for others!)

I love how they tied things together as much as they could! I also love how they ended it, basically refreshing the X-Men universe!

Oh and Martin, I still love 'First Class' the most, too.

This was absolutely fantastic, definitely my favourite X-Men movie so far (and easily best movie so far this year) It was gripping from start to finish, plenty of action but also plenty of storyline (which is sometimes missing from superhero/action films) Also all the acting was brilliant and the addition of some new brilliant characters was great too. Not forgetting all the bonuses towards the end. Need to see it again asap. 10/10 for me.

OH YES

aside from my close personal friend getting time to shine most out of the 'old' lot (bar stupid old Logan, who looked VILE in that nude scene) it was just a jolly brilliant sci fi ROMP. A few minor quibbles regarding consistency across the other films (how did Xavier get back to his old body? why did Mystique never mention kidnap/torture before?, Why was Trask never mentioned?) but in terms of being FUN and entertainment it was top class. AMAZING CGI throughout, seriously the 2023 sentinel's looked incredible as did Blink's portals and almost all the other mutants and their powers. The only thing was Mystique looked like she was wearing STICKERS half the time, most odd. Peter Dinklage was great as Trask, but OMG LOL at the worst Nixon I have EVER SEEN. It was like they had never seen or heard Nixon before and just picked a guy who looked like Paul Giamatti. Also LOL at OSCAR WINNER Anna Paquin being reduced to a CAMEO and also OSCAR WINNER Halle Berry having about 30 seconds on screen. Even SIR GANDALF was limited to about 10 words and a few waves of his metal controlling hands.

I mean those are all the niggles of an impossible to please guy, the overall thing was amazing and SO VERY NEAR perfect. Super excited for Apocalypse, even though I highly doubt many of the old cast will be back again.

Did you see the Star Trek connection  by using the two captains well one of them was on the small screen

And I have to agree, I can't see the old cast coming back now,

the ending of the film just ties everything up

Yeah I can only see Hugh Jackman coming back for Apocalypse. But those nidbits were solved at the end due to

basically resetting the whole thing

.

This is all true, it's just odd that in the prime timeline they were never mentioned. It's just a niggle really.

TAKE NOTE JJ Abrams, THIS is how you reboot/revamp an old franchise.

Great film great cast great plot. The best bit was time In a bottle Jim Croce song. I'd like to see it a hit in the UK at long last plus Roberta flack to rechart now it's in yet another film.

8 or 9 out of 10 yay!

100% as soon as he signs a contract.

Which is likely they could kill off Wolverine if he is being written out of the comics, WISHFUL THINKING!

Agreed, a good cast. Love the merge of old and new cast  I really do think Lawrence stepped up with the character in this film!
