November 5, 201311 yr Author Russell Brand's response to Robert's article: "Just in case anyone else from Peep Show is worried, I am against death camps. In case Super Hans is worried, I am not a Nazi," said Brand. "I'm not saying let's go smash people up and certainly not kill people... I'm double, double against genocide. I am talking about a revolution of consciousness. "Definitely no killing. I'm against that; I'm a vegetarian, I think we're all equal. I'm not saying smash people's stuff up, and definitely no killing." "Maybe it's okay for Robert Webb, no-one is going to take his kids away, but I've heard some examples," he said. "I don't claim to be a politician. I'm sure there are people in the room who know more about this than I do, I didn't have an education like Robert Webb. But there are people from Leicester in Guantanamo Bay. "If you went to Oxbridge, if you went to a private school, no-one is coming for your kids. They're not coming for you if you're from Oxbridge. That's my open letter to Robert. I hope it doesn't go to the other one by mistake - David Mitchell - who I really like."
November 5, 201311 yr "I've heard some examples" meaning "Oh shit, they're onto me". He raises this Oxbridge point as if people who went to other universities have their children taken all the time.
November 5, 201311 yr This is the more interesting response, just so you know who you're in the same boat as Calum: http://libcom.org/blog/dear-messrs-webb-lu...%80%A6-01112013
November 5, 201311 yr Author Before I air my opinion on the article, might I ask - who is the article written by? I presume it's David Mitchell?

November 5, 201311 yr I hear Jeremy Paxman agrees: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24818743 Which is a bit rich coming from him, because his style of macho, aggressive interviews feed into one of the main reasons people hate politics so much.
November 5, 201311 yr I disagree. Jeremy Paxman's role is to argue the opposing point, not necessarily agree with what the other person is saying.
October 25, 201410 yr worth mentioning his interview the other night, on Newsnight again. I didn't watch all of it as I started chucking things at the TV. He's basically selling a conspiracy theory book, so on a par with aliens kidnapped my granny, the moon landings never happened, and JFK was murdered by a ninja. He talks lots and says nothing of value, he has no solutions to anything just bland patronising "power to the people" statements, as if allowing action groups do whatever they like will somehow solve their problems. How about donating profits of the book to a worthy cause instead....?
October 25, 201410 yr I found Russell Brand to be incredibly intolerable and rude to Evan Davis during the interview, which is somewhat akin to kicking a puppy. Plus, it turns out that Russell thinks that 9/11 was an inside job. I'd tell him to stick to comedy, but I never found him funny in the first place, appearences with Noel Fielding notwithstanding.
