As next Sunday, Eminem & Rihanna will more than likely make it to the Top 3 for the 2nd time. Were there any other instances where 2 seperately known acts collaborated and scored more than 1 Top 3/5/10 hits with the exact same formation? I would exclude duos who are just/better well-known as being duets (example; Macklemore/Ryan Lewis, Robson/Jerome, Sonny/Cher, Nicole/Pussycat Dolls, etc)

Coming to mind is Elton John & Kiki-Dee 'Don't go breaking my heart' and 'True Love'. No.1 and No.2 respectively? I am sure there will be many more, especially from the hip-hop scene., though most coming to mind, did not have the same exact formation.

David Guetta has had 2 top 10 hits with both Sia ('Titanium' and 'She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)') and Akon ('Sexy Bitch' and 'Play Hard').

EDIT: Also Chris Willis ('Love Is Gone' and 'Gettin' Over You'). All three of these are a #1 and a smaller top 10 hit.

EDIT2: Also Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj ('Where Them Girls At' for both plus 'Club Can't Handle Me' and 'Turn Me On' respectively). Guetta must be the king of this :P

EDIT3: And Kelly Rowland ('When Love Takes Over' and 'Commander'). Though I like to forget both of those songs exist.

Talking of 'Club Can't Handle Me'... Just discovered the vocals are by Nicole Scherzinger! :o
A lot of artists usually "return the favour" and feature on a track whose main artist featured on their previous track, if that made any sense whatsoever! :P

Jay-Z has had multiples with Beyoncé, Rihanna & Kanye West

(Crazy In Love/Deja Vu/03' Bonnie & Clyde), (Umbrella/Run This Town), (Run This Town/Ni**s In Paris)

Beyoncé has featured on Jay-Z's '03 Bonnie & Clyde', 'Hollywood', 'Lift Off' and Jay-Z has featured on Beyoncé's 'Crazy in Love' 'Deja Vu' and 'Upgrade U'. Haven't bared in mind the Top 10 thing though, but oh well. :kink:

Certainly does make sense - see Jay-Z & Timberlake for a recent example/

Jennifer Lopez / LL Cool J had #2s with 'All I Have' and 'Control Myself' (although they were switched as the main artist for the songs - are you excluding that?).

Ja Rule and Ashanti: 'Always On Time' (#6), 'Mesmerize' (#12) and 'Wonderful' (#1) (which also featured R. Kelly).

Dr. Dre / Snoop Dogg: 'Still D.R.E' (#6) and 'The Next Episode' (#3).

Missy Elliott / Ludacris: 'One Minute Man' (#10) & Gossip Folks (#9).

The Tamperer featuring Maya - Feel It; If You Buy This Record, Your Life Will Be Better; and Hammer To The Heart all hit top 10.

J-Lo and Ja Rule: I'm Real and Ain't It Funny

Keri Hilson and Timbaland: The Way I Are, Scream, Return the Favour ()

Ciara and Missy Elliot: 1, 2 Step and Lose Control

As in Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney - The Girl Is Mine

Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson - Say Say Say

I'm not sure David Guetta should count, because it was his collaborations that *made* him known - he'd had no real chart success before them.

Maybe Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. 1978 No. 1 for 16 weeks with just 2 songs!!!

Although Travolta is more an actor than a singer, but he also has had a solo No.2 with "Sandy".

Mind = blown.

What a horrible song though. Shame on her.

It's still a collaboration, I don't get how it shouldn't count.

The original question was about separately known acts. Guetta wasn't well known until he started to collaborate with every Tomas, Richard et Henri.

You're right but I'd still argue that he qualifies, he's not constantly collaborating with the same artist, like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for example, he's collaborating with several different artists.
