Love At First Sight, On A Night Like This, and Chocolate should all be top 10!

I'm glad to see Put Yourself In My Place in the top 20.

'Get Outta My Way' is definitely better than 'Wow for me, my favourite of the era.

I know loads of people say it was the wrong choice but I honesly don't think anything else would have done better, I think it's just the way the market's shifted that she wouldn't be getting hit singles post-album release any more.

I loved wow and still do, im glad it was the biggest selling single from the X era. I think i would like get outta my way a lot more if it was left as an album track, like 2 hearts it should have never been a single. On reflection maybe no other single would have done any better but i always felt other tracks could have outperformed it.
I really think 'All The Lovers', 'Get Outta My Way', 'Aphrodite' (and MAYBE 'Cupid Boy') were the only single sounding songs on the album. It's a solid enough album but it wasn't exactly packed with potential killer singles, whereas X was more patchy but had a few obvious hits on it.

I agree with everything above apart fro get outta my way. I must add all the lovers was such an excellent single i still adore the song and i rank it as one of kylies best ever singles.

13 | Where The Wild Roses Grow (feat. Nick Cave)

Yes John Krasinski, yes you can.
This, and indeed the two songs above it, was so close to being my top 10 and at one point was in it, but sadly it had to miss out.
Released inbetween KM94 and Impossible Princess, this haunting duet was a single by Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds from their Murder Ballads album.
In a nutshell, Nick falls helplessly and obsessivly in love with Kylie and her beauty and so woos her for a few days then takes her down to the river and caves her
head in with a rock because he deems her too beautiful to live. Touching. What makes this song for me is the harsh contrast between Kylie and Nick's vocals, she is very
soft, fragile and emotional, whereas he is deep, powerful and almost emotionless. Combine that with the simple and haunting backing vocals and you have a stunning duet
and one of her best.
That's nice.

1. Do you know my favourite Kylie's song ?

2. Do you count "You Disco Needs You" as single ?

1. No and I don't really care.

2. Wait and see.

This is MY thread, MY countdown. ME ME ME :kink: Alex can do his own, I actively enjoy his other countdowns even if his taste is generally appauling.

I'm another who thinks 'Get Outta My Way' was a great song and single choice. Would have preferred it being release pre-album as it would have more than likely made the Top 10.

'Where the Wild Roses Grow' is a beautiful ballad; it's almost like a poem and the contrast between the two voices as noted is great!

I liked get outta my way when I first heard the album but not so keen on it now. I don't think it was strong enough to be the second single from aphrodite.
I prefer Better Than Today to Get Outta My Way, but still like it.

12 | Better The Devil You Know

*FACT* Ryan Reynolds was playing this very song in that scene. (May or may not be true, you decide)

NOW THEN, I wasn't born when this came out, so the first taste of this track for me was when Steps covered it, pretty well IMO. When I started to get into Kylie back in OH THREE,

I become aware of her original version and fell madly in love. So camp, so energetic, so KYLIE. One of her signature hits I think its safe to say and one that really is as amazing

live as it is in studi form. My mother and I have a lovely boogie to this when we saw Les Folies. The video saw a vast OOMPH in Kylie's sexualness and saw her dancing about with a

rather beautifully sculpted black man and dressed in a sexy wig. Lovely. 90's Kylie really was very beautiful (as are all era's, but 90's Kylie had that extra something)

Yes please :D

Yes please :D

I second that!

'Better the Devil You Know' is one of Kylie best 90s tracks; I agree it is worthy of signature song status. I've tried avoiding the Steps cover as much as possible. :P Mind you, some of their covers are fantastic in a cheesy pop kind of way (hello 'Chain Reaction')

11 | Please Stay

*FACT* This song had just finished when that scene was on, Ryan was so hot and bothered by this sizzling song that he had to remove his clothing.
JUST missing out on my top 10 (:() is this single from Light Years. Chosen as a single over Your Disco Needs You and Butterfly, this caused uproar amongst the Kylie
community. I adore this song, the latin feel to it is just magical. The video sees Kylie hanging around in what appears to be a set from a 70's porno, complete with pole.
Two ABBA-esque outfits are included. Kylie dances with two men in very tight clothing, yum. But lets face it, she was walking her dog in the wrong park by getting flirty with them,
those two men were gonna make use of that bed after the shoot.

SOOOOOO, we're at the top 10 now. Exciting times are ahead of us peeps. I can reveal that we have in the top 10:
1 Kylie! single
1 Rhythm Of Love single
1 KM94 single
1 Light Years single
1 Body Language single
1 Ultimate Kylie single
2 X singles
1 Aphrodite single
1 non album single

PREDICT!
'Please Stay' has undeniably the most sexy and arousing video. Such a tune too. 'Better the Devil You Know' is fab too!
