August 30, 200619 yr This is from The sun At the top ... Justin points to where he wants to be in the charts Is it the top for JUST1N? JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is not just back – he’s SexyBack – and on course for his first No1 single. When his comeback disc, SexyBack, hit the shops on Monday, it shifted 10,000 copies in a single day. And that’s pretty impressive for a Bank Holiday. Incredibly, the boyfriend of CAMERON DIAZ has NEVER topped the singles Top 40 — either as a solo performer or with his boyband NSYNC. His debut album, Justified, did make No1 in our album charts — but not in the States, where he’s never had a No1 single or an album as a solo artist. And the big hits from Justified — Cry Me A River, Rock Your Body and Like I Love You — only made it as high as No2 in our singles chart. Justin’s been away from the charts since 2003. Now he’s storming back with a vengeance. He was told about SexyBack’s success after performing live in New York on the ELLEN DEGENERES Show. The single’s success is great news for Justin, because he’s facing some very stiff competition, not least from the hot new band THE FRATELLIS. They combine football terrace chants with great pop songs. And their shows at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals have obviously won them a load of new fans. Their single, Chelsea Dagger, will go in at No4. This week is also very exciting for albums. I’m thrilled to report KASABIAN are smashing their way to No1 with their second offering, Empire. They’re outselling by two copies to one old-timer BOB DYLAN (his new release Modern Times is his 44th album). The Leicester lads — fronted by TOM MEIGHAN and SERGE PIZZORNO — sold more than 32,000 copies of Empire on Monday. These days you can get a No1 album on a quiet week by selling 40,000 in seven days. I would predict that Kasabian will have shifted more than 100,000 copies by the time the chart is released on Sunday. However, you mustn’t underestimate the heaviness of old metal. Vintage rockers IRON MAIDEN will enter the charts at No3 with A Matter Of Life And Death. But it’s not been a good week for everyone. MARIA LAWSON from X Factor might have had a hit with Sleepwalking — but that’s just what her self-titled new album is doing. It looks set to debut at No41. LifeLight

August 30, 200619 yr Thanks for the update, shame the Scissor Sisters have dropped, even if the Top 5 is close. Well done to the Fratellis as well, Top 3 is brilliant! Im not surprised that Basement jaxx has dropped, it really is a carbon copy of Oh My Gosh.

August 30, 200619 yr Author I found Robbie cough 1 cough 8 coough 7 cough I didn't expect him that low  :o Some downloads are missing.
August 30, 200619 yr He'll be high next week. Downloads don't always mean that much. He's up to 14 on iTunes and he's not really the type of artist that's going to sell loads of downloads anyway. Remember how much they pushed Sin Sin Sin down?
August 30, 200619 yr Author Remember how much they pushed Sin Sin Sin down? Yes I remember, and his new song is not the type of song that most Robbie fans would buy
August 30, 200619 yr I heard predictions in that news report - is it from Victoria Newt again? :puke2:
