Iggy Azalea's biggest hit in my chart isn't the highest in my Y/E. Change Your Life falls out not long before the top 10 (oh how I wanted it there :(), being beaten by her best song Work (it kinda underperformed in my chart compared to how much I love it). I actually much prefer the version without T.I., as Iggy has another verse. It's the version I listen to most these days although the T.I. version is still fantastic. Definitely give it a listen if you've not heard it!

11. Cody Simpson - La Da Dee - 1-2-2-3-5-6-7-10-12-12-17-22-29-37-X (14 weeks)

 

Cody Simpson stumbles at the final hurdle before the top 10 with third Surfers Paradise single La Da Dee, marking a second year with no songs in the top 10 Y/E chart despite being one of my favourite artists. La Da Dee is an uplifting breezy song with a ukelele backing track, and the song was picked to be the soundtrack song for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. Sadly this meant the video had to have clips from the film in it, ruining it entirely. Oh well.

It's hardly any secret that I love Alyssa Reid and any song she released was always gonna do well in my chart, but Running Guns really is a top notch song. The dance-pop song is the first single from her second album, conveniently released on my birthday *.* Alyssa still has another song to come, marking two years in a row where she's had two songs top 10, but where will Satisfaction Guaranteed and its iconic video land?

Oh very good. Still one of Alyssa's best but I'm glad it didn't beat the other one in here.

 

I definitely prefer that vid to Satisfaction Guaranteed's though. Because of normalness.

9. One Direction - Best Song Ever - 1-1-1-1-2-3-4-3-5-7-11-14-20-25-32-37-X (16 weeks)

 

Bellamian favourites One Direction "only" make #9 with Best Song Ever, the first single from album Midnight Memories. It's a fantastic song and their third best to date IMO, after What Makes You Beautiful and Kiss You. This song marks their longest stay at #1 with any song, with past #1s More Than This (2 weeks), Live While We're Young (2 weeks), Little Things (1 week), Kiss You (2 weeks) and One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) (1 week) not coming close, and current single Story of My Life also only managing 2 weeks. They remain the artist with the most #1s in the history of my chart though, with every single from LWWY onwards (More Than This was not a UK single) making the top spot.

Best Song Ever is a huge guilty pleasure of mine, this has probably been their best era in terms of singles so far.

8. Mariah Carey - #Beautiful (feat. Miguel) - 39-36-38-37-10-11-11-10-9-12-16-14-9-15-20-22-26-26-32-33-38-X (21 weeks)

 

Mariah Carey enters at #8 here, making her the only artist to place higher on the Y/E chart than their official weekly chart peak. Despite being one of the longest runners of the year, #Beautiful only peaked at #9 for some silly reason, but still managed 4 weeks top 10 which is respectable for it, as well as 11 weeks top 20. #Beautiful is my favourite Mariah song now, so slick and Miguel's fantastic in it also. Great track and I am SO excited for her new album, gonna be so good!

7. Alyssa Reid - Satisfaction Guaranteed - 1-1-1-2-5-6-8-11-15-19- (10 weeks so far)

 

Alyssa Reid is back with the second single from her upcoming new album. Satisfaction Guaranteed is pretty much a perfect pop song, with an absolutely iconic video. How many times do you see a girl spraying whipped cream on a guy's face and licking it off? Or teasing his body with a chip from a fast food restaurant? I'd post some GIFs but nowadays she's too irrelevant to even have them. :( This song needs to be a worldwide smash and would genuinely be a worthy Y/E #1, but my top 6 is so so strong.
